Eddie Stobbart: Trucks and Trailers
Discussion
Can't believe that the woman driver took out a (new to her) trailer with a tail lift, knowing that she didn't know how to operate it, and didn't ask for a demo beforehand. She should never have taken the trailer out without having been trained - after all, she had plenty other "risk assessments" in her hand!
She should have been reprimanded for that omission - or her chargehand should.

and the employer prosecuted for breaching PUWER...She should have been reprimanded for that omission - or her chargehand should.
Thanks for the heads up on the new series.
As much as I like watching it, it also annoys me. Especially when a routine manoeuvre by a driver is made out to be a matter of life or death.
"One false move and the whole trailer could be totalled!"
No, the driver would probably just rip off some spray suppression which the fitters could replace in five minutes when back in the yard. Perhaps nearly 12 years in the industry has made me look at it all in a very different light.
