Into Eternity

Any of Rich Hall's documentaries about the US.

In the Shadow of the Moon.

I second Touching the Void, Inside Job and Bitter Lake. If you want to see some of Adam Curtis's back catalogue, there's a website called thoughtmaybe.com with most of them on, e.g. The Power of Nightmares.

That's a great programme - I saw it on C4 once then spent ages trying to buy a copy. Awesome footage that makes you feel very tiny...

Bit late now...as it's currently on episode 22, but the Beeb has been repeating the World at War in the last few weeks.

I know I've already mentioned it, but it's currently on Sky box sets. Hot Coffee really is a very good documentary on how Big Business in the USA is trying to take the ability to take civil actions away from the general public.

'The Green Prince', on this week was fascinating. About a son of a major Palestinian terror boss who was turned by the Israelis and featured a lot of interviews from the lad and his handler, and monitoring camera footage of surveillance etc. Plus horrific tales of what the Palestinians did to their own in prison camps they seemed to have been allowed to run as they saw fit. Terrifying, disheartening and yet absorbing at the same time.

Agreed; however many years since it was made, still very authoritative, thorough and as a result, powerful. the start of the first episode, with the piece about Oradour sur Glane [sp?], really hits home - how th ehell did Europe get that fked up?

From the book, ' Most Secret War' by RV Jones about the scientific side to fighting the second world war, the TV docu version is good and a reminder when people could make good and in-depth documentaries without dumbing it down.
Here's the first in the series.

If you like this kinda thing, read the book - it's even better and in my top ten books of all time.

Banned?
Unlawful Killing is a 2011 British documentary film, directed by Keith Allen, about the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed on 31 August 1997.

The film was banned in 2012 after being shelved by lawyers against potential libel lawsuits. Producers admitted that lawyers had warned them to make 87 cuts if they wanted to show the film in Britain.

The film cost £2.5 million to produce and has never been seen by the public.
