Unlawful Killing is a 2011 British documentary film, directed by Keith Allen, about the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed on 31 August 1997.

The film was banned in 2012 after being shelved by lawyers against potential libel lawsuits. Producers admitted that lawyers had warned them to make 87 cuts if they wanted to show the film in Britain.

The film cost £2.5 million to produce and has never been seen by the public.

Excellent thread.
One of my favourites - I think they just squeak into the documentary territory - are Louis Theroux' Weird Weekends series. I particularly liked the Survivalists ep...

THat doesn't sound like 'banned' to me.
It sounds like it is so chock full of unsubstantiated guff that the makers daren't show it because they will get taken to the cleaners. Having read that description there are few films I ever want to see less than that.

I tracked it down a few years ago expecting big things, they must have banned it for a reason! Nothing new really, bit disappointed.
For the tinfoil hat brigade with plenty of time, 9/11 the new pearl harbour. sonar

Just typical leaps of faith and a general rambling tone. At one point I actually thought it was an un-aired brass eye episode.

I think this counts as a documentary, 'TT: Closer to the Edge' from ITV 4 this weekend.

An awesome spectacle handled well without too much sensation and interesting back piece stuff, including the engaging warts and all Guy Martin, one of one of those clever but ‘simple’ unfiltered sort, with no hidden 'side'. Hope if BBC do do a Top Gear he gets the lead role. I might even watch then!

The one on BBC2 just, with Victoria Cohen about PL Travers.
Lovely.

Cohen is the best thing about the BBC at the moment; intelligent, engaging, genuine, reflective, very good.

From the book, ' Most Secret War' by RV Jones about the scientific side to fighting the second world war, the TV docu version is good and a reminder when people could make good and in-depth documentaries without dumbing it down.
Here's the first in the series.

If you like this kinda thing, read the book - it's even better and in my top ten books of all time.
Good news for your book collection - there is a book that goes with the tv series and is still available.
The Secret War by Brian Johnson. Very similar style to the RV Jones book.

Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but "Love the Beast" is a great documentary/film all about our favourite subject.
