I was just watching it tonight, and one of the options as an answer is "finance".

...and Jeremy Vine pronounced it as "fin ance". He then repeats it again, in the same way.

Surely he should have had a word in his ear saying it's "fi nance"? It's not like he's a fresh face on screen...baffling why he would pronounce it so.

Very tame and polite rant over..

Yeah I'm quite surprised the OP failed to mention what a bunch of pricks the Eggheads actually are. Know it all tts. It's the fat man with white hair that annoys me the most, but I honestly can't figure out what it is about *him* in particular.

Its the fact that he's a fat condescending tt with nothing better to do with his sad life than to play the same game over and over getting increasingly smug about the random useless trivia that his fat ugly head is stuffed with.

They are all a load of meaningless tits.

The most annoying by far is CJ (I've just googled them and they have their own Wiki entry. CJ is his actual name rolleyes)

Of all the people in this world who I'd love to get bad aids it's him. Then he could bore everyone with the history of the illness to his last miserable painful breath.

Here lies CJ de Mooi - He was a bit of a tit, but he knew stuff. Son, brother, celebrity, smug wker. RIP

hehe
Just kidding, I dont dislike him that much.

Or do I....

CJ is probably the most smug git on the panel. I'd happily happy slap the git.

He's the most smug, and also the one who seems to get the most answers wrong.

I once saw him on a weekday morning in a restaurant in Soho. Just sat on his own, he still had that smug look on his face.

The others don't annoy me at all. smile

No, I don't find them that annoying. I'm frequently amused by the way CJ follows up an answer of 'I don't know' (on some useless subject such as boy bands) with 'who cares?' as I find myself giving that answer to more and more questions these days.

I find Chris fairly endearing especially the way he manages to turn every discussion around to his favourite subject, trains. I'm sure he's only biding his time until someone at the Beeb realises Fred Dibnah has snuffed it and ropes him in as his replacement.

The two I can't stand are:

A - Barry. He's useless. He even looks as though he's been dropped into the middle of it and still hasn't quite worked out what's going on yet. Always reminds me of a rabbit caught in the headlights.
B - Daphne. She has this bloody annoying habit of saying 'oh, I don't know' then having a guess which turns out 150% of the time to be dead right. fkin' hell, woman, if you know the answer just give it, why pretend you don't.
And that stupid fixed smile all the bloody time gets on my tits too.

And I'm convinced that everybody, both Eggheads and Challengers, are told to spin out the answers to make the show last longer.

My brother went on the show a couple of years ago, and went up against CJ. He lost (my brother, not CJ).

This ^^, exactly this, especially the commenat about bloody Daphne. aaarrrgggghhhhh.

I quite like Kevin tbh, quite humble and just has an utterly amazing amount of stuff stored away.

Incidentally I was listening to Brain of Britain yesterday, Christ on a bike sometimes that lot know nowt.

Q:Which UK nuclear submarine sank the Argetinian ship the General Belgrano during the Falklands war.

HMS Conqueror you terwats, not the four random guesses you lot came up with!!!

That is the one that stuck in my mind but there were a few more DOH moments.

What about the questions you don't understand?

Like if asked you a question in Afrikaan - you may know the answer but you dont understand the question.

Eh, eh?

My favourite of all of the eggheads (I use the word 'favourite' lightly)
is probably Kevin, He's the most intelligent my a country mile and seems the least smug about it.
Least favourite is CJ because he seems to talk down to people and is very smug.
