Adam does rather seem to have lost the plot of late.

Is Toby only interested in Pip for what he can get out of her and put in her or is he actually a nice enough bloke? I'm not hearing too many warning signs other than oldies wishing to revisit the sins of the father on the sons.

My biggest issue with the Archers though is nothing to do with the above. It's how long they will keep that utter wk stain of an ex Eastenders producer on for before they kick the cocksocket into the long grass.

The Archers - An everyday tail of farming folk. Someone needs to write that in point 72 all over that c-unit's body and mind. This is the Archers - 15 minutesish of gentle escapism and storytelling that has been going on for more years than most on this Forum have been alive. It is supposed to be about the social and farming issues of the day. Not a radio version of Eastenders.

As for the new cast - FFS I just don't even know where to begin to start. Pip sounds older than her mother!

And just to clear things up - never listened to the Archers bar one or two episodes until 2005 when I met the Mrs. SInce then manage to catch about 50% of the broadcasts and have become a full on convert, or at least I was till they brought that utter, raving, did your daddy touch you as a child? throbber in.
Toby was very clear I think on Friday. He's a rotter. And entirely agree on the producer and the new actors. I'm convinced that Tom and Charlie are played by the same person.

Oh that is a shame. I really had hopes that he would turn out to be a good guy and over the next few years we would see things set up for the next 30 odd at the farm.

Mind you why did I get my hopes up with Cap'in Thobber at the editorial controls rolleyes

Is Rob really a baddie though, or just not a particularly likable man?

Let's face it Jess seems to be a bit of a fruit loop.
He's a manipulative lying SOB who cheated on Jess while her father was dying. I actually wonder if anything that comes out of mouth is the truth. He lied about the Hunt Sab and Browbeat Shula in to cover up for him. Lied to Helen about sleeping with Jess after supposedly splitting up with her. Choose Helen because of her new home/inheritance. His funny business with the shop manager, probably choose her because he fancied her. His blaming and sacking somebody else for his feed ordering cock-up at the super diary. We know he faked the paternity test over Jess's baby from his conversation with her, and have yet to find out how. He's tried to oppress Helen and almost succeeded but he's all at sea now she is all caught up in her new farm shop venture. There have also been a few hints that his reasons for leaving his former Job in Cannada was not what he says.

Then perhaps I'm biased, Helen is a sweet heart so perhaps I'm just jealous. smile

You missed the fact that he flooded the village, blocking the dyke to save the dairy and almost killed Charlie. He's then got rid of Stefan who saw him do it....

Re the episode on 17/09/2017:

Following Lexi’s exploits eating the ice cream as it was dribbling everywhere (ahem), we then moved on to the flower and produce show where her tasty banista proved far more popular than Jennifer's dry old frangipane!
