TB1 and TB2 both mounted swivel cannons in the original series.

Dreadful graphics.
You're obviously a professional in this field. How could they improve?
Bring back the puppets tongue out

Seriously, if you look at Computer games on PS4 and Xbox the characters look much better in the top end games.

As for that car chase frown Think I could have done better with two cardboard cutouts and a video camera frown

I think sometimes going for the "look, this is models like in the original!" look didn't help. The car chase was pretty pants, as were TB 1 and 2 hovering over the sea while holding up the sea station. Small gripes though.

My kids (7 & 3) loved it. I think the makers have struck a balance between the feel of the original and modern CGI very well. That won't please everyone but hey, I thought it was very good.

I just watched it with my kids and thought it was done very well. My 9 year old who is very hard to please, quite liked it but my 5 year old wasn't really interested at all.
Lots of pace and non-stop storyline.
I was also mystified by why Brains had to be stereotypically Indian (but hey, they had an Indian fakir in The Herbs)and didn't much like Lady Penelope but at one point, with an upper view of Scott, he looked almost identical to the original in a few frames.
good effort, I'd say...and I'm 55.

He sounds more like Raj from The Big Bang Theory than Brains hehe
Brains is voiced by Kayvan Novak.

Have you thought about a Visit to Specsavers? whistle

Or do you already have those Rose tinted glasses?

Notice the nod to other series? I spotted Stingray before and the underwater lab looks like it has an Eagle nosecone!
Yep watched it on ITV Player last night
Spotted the nose cone thing.
Its interesting that the Hoods portrayal looks (to me) to be a version of the one from the film.
Not sure if I will watch it each week but well worth a look.

I watched it out of interest and thought it was a real lost opportunity. The original was and is so memorable because of the fantastic music, the sense of drama and the realism of some of the high tech equipment. The rescues were often portrayed as really difficult to achieve which added to the tension, and of course it too was aimed at a young audience. The fact that grown ups watched as well was a happy accident, but really showed the quality of the series. What I saw on Saturday was really very little to do with Thunderbirds. The character's names were the same, the machines looked similar and the launch sequences were similar also but everything else was out of kilter. These guys could save the world during the commercial break without even getting out of breath. Previous posters have commented on the fact that this is a children's show - and they are right. However the makers have chosen to remake a show that has a very high position in popular culture and with it comes expectations that are always going to be linked to the original series. If you are going to call your series Thunderbirds then it had better be extraordinary (like the original series) or you are going to face well deserved criticism. It has been 50 years since the original was first shown and kids will still watch it and be thrilled. We as adults can still watch it and enjoy it. Will the children of today be interested in the show in 50 years time? I doubt it.
Sorry for the rant. I've put my soap box away now!

The original was written and paced in such a way that you came to know the victims who needed rescuing, and could empathise with them. This version doesn't seem the flesh out the characters as well as the original

As to the comments as to why Brains now has an Indian accent, that question was answered yesterday on Sunday Brunch.

The actor Kayvan tried different American voices and was told no so he did it with an Indian accent and they liked it.

That's what he said on the show anyway.
