Did have a watch earlier today on ITV player

Just seemed like standard Saturday morning cartoon fodder, pretty much forgettable.

I can honestly say I'm glad that's the end of the series. It's just a shame they intend to release another series next year.

As the series has now ended, should we change the thread title to "Thunderbirds are gone!"

I thought the characters were good, the new guys looked very like their string counterparts! What I didn't like was the storyline - so complex, what happened to the "plane with no wheels" or "kid stuck in a lift" - the storyline was way too complex for me, never mind young kids!

I had a mate like that who hated being called Wing Nut, so he got renamed FA Cup.

Seriously though, there must be more than one episode this season...?

TBH I don't mind the CGI/graphics at all (although I noticed it looked less "puppet/model" like this week), it's pretty much everything around it, the storyline/directing (too fast/complex, as above), the cheesiness of it all (seriously, Alan on a space surfboard?! rofl) etc. etc.

As also previously suggested, I suspect this will be all forgotten about in a few years time, like this previous attempt https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvV0poJXdZchehe

Lady Penelope's car is not a Rolls Royce. There was a view of the front of the car and the radiator grill had a non RR look to it and the mascot certainly was not a flying lady.

Why is it the end of the series. According to the Radio Times, the next episode is on Saturday morning (April 18)?

Bring back "Muffin the mule", "The flower pot men".

Remember that classic on air line when Ollie Owl ended with some time to go, and Muriel Young had to adlib, from memory goes something like this.

"Where have you been Ollie"

"I have been to the ball"

"I didn't know Owls had balls Ollie"

Just watched it, seemed a bit better - less cheesiness but still a little quick paced.

Plus, the Mole! biggrin

Something wierd going on at ITV. They started a new series with Griff Rhys Jones on episode four and Thunderbirds was touted as a three episode series which appears to have 5 at the moment. Wikipedia now confirms that there are 26 in the first season with a further 26 to come next year.

His name was Ollie Beak! Philistine!

(Did you know that Ollie's mate Fred Barker was voiced by Ivan Owen, who later did Basil Brush?)

Yes indeed everywhere was saying this was a 3 episode run then got a message this morning saying its on.

A very poor episode, they didn't cover how they will decontaminate both aircraft and the mole, how did they fill the hole the mole made, fingerless gloves in his NBC suit, and no gloves on hers. It's the future yet thunderbird 1 can't hold a hover yet a modern helicopter hardly moves in the hover and if in auto hover they don't move.

Again highly rushed, that countdown is definitely quicker than the old versions.

Also jumping into the aircraft like they do they're going to have dodgy knees and ankles by the time they get to 30.

Just watched all 3 episodes on ITV Player. Thought the sets, backgrounds, models and CGI were brilliant - but the people were AWFUL! I've seen better animation in 10-year-old computer games. Why didn't they just drop real people in and be done with it?

I see they also fell back on the old plot device of putting a timer display on a bomb - on the outside of a satellite where no-one was ever going to see it! And they're still labelling everything in sight!

I do love the new look TB2 though.

Turning Parker into James Bond didn't really help.
