Boardwalk Empire - Sky Atlantic HD

Close to removing the series link on this, not as good as last season seems to be a lot of filler, the bits with Eli's son, the stuff down in Tampa, I get the feeling that Knox is going to go down similar to Van Alden, but is going to be less good than Van Alden (who imho is an excellent character)

We watched the 1st series and were immediately gripped but the story, background and actors. But the 2nd series got slower and slower until when the 3rd series came out it seemed like it going nowhere so we gave up on it.
Really? Wow. I felt the first series was decent, but something was missing. The second it heated up and got going, and the third was brilliant (save for the Schroeder woman). I feel the fourth it has slowed down, but it would feel like that after the awesome Gyp Rosetti. Some episodes have been slow (the thanksgiving family dinner episode in particular). However, like Game of Thrones, I lap up every second of each episode, it is dripping with quality, from the sets to the acting - again, like Game of Thrones, the atmosphere is nigh on perfect and, for the hour it's on, I am transfixed to the screen, 100% drawn in.
And I normally, as a rule, hate US gangster fodder.

Brilliant show. Can be a bit boring at times however when it gets going there is no other show like it.
Season 5 is set to be huge too and I can only expect a shedload of bloodshed

I was sad to see Richard go, but I loved how they handled it with the dream sequence The next season will be the last so here's hoping they get to tie up the story lines in a satisfactory manner. I wonder if we will see Chalky again ?
Chalky has been fantastic - my wife is actually scared of him, with his constant scowl! lolGassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
