Watching the Sopranos this week.
In the episode which pays homage to Goodfellas (Spider), as well as future captain Vito's first role (of three) in the series, I noticed that the lad who got shot in the foot was only a young mental agent Tolliver!
You know that Spider was Michael Imperioli?

Lost and Boardwalk are not in the same area. The regular US shows that have around 18-25 episodes per series are usually turgid repetitive stuff that often lose their way.
The cable shows with their 8-13 episode series rarely lose their way. And are much tighter with their story arcs. Less villain of the week stuff, proper serial dramas.

Thank you. It's been bugging me where I knew him from.

Gutted really. It's been one of my favourite programmes of recent years.

On a separate note, I can recommend the soundtrack - it's excellent.

With the exception of The Shield I've always played catch up after a show has concluded. This is/was a great series.

I did enjoy it...but...

Some thoughts.

They are gonna do that epic flashback thing to Nucky's early days. US shows like this a lot! BSG, Sopranos (though not weighted to the last series/ep) etc.
I felt I had missed something...AR dead... frown when he seemed to have some good bits last series.... Omar (forget his BW name) in chains? When he seemed to be in charge of a solid gang last series.
The AR thing as just brushed off.
The Joe Massorea thing was very good...and we saw the birth of the five families/Mafia?

Things to come.
Eli
The rise and return of that mental pro-ey agent.
St Valentines Day massacre?
The birth of Vegas?

I've just checked the dates, we are post Wall Street Crash, so we're at the end of '29, or already in '30. So that might explain AR being dead, though I'd like to see him again, but it's unlikely. If they are strict with dates there'll be no massacre either. But in 1930 AL comes out of prison...a good intro?

Cracking second ep.
The threads have all been sorted now.

So it's 6 years? And more big names revealed, that's cool.
Wonder if Eli and the old Prob agent will turn against Nucky?
Shame that thingioo got killed.

I can see that, seeing as they introduced the IRS thing with D'Angelo, and what seems to be the start of the NYC Mafia and the Vegas thing.

I was also very pleased at the absence of voice-over tt at the end, I really enjoyed that song and was able to listen to it uninterrupted.

I'm finding this series a bit slow. But then, I can't work out if the prison escape by Chalky White is a flashback or present day.
