Yes, I was thinking the same about Van Alden, because where else can he turn? The editing wasn't great, you just had to pay attention.biggrin

OMFG. Best episode yet!
Yes! Sadly I knew Jimmy went. I checked wiki for a spelling and spoiled it for myself, I don't normally mind spoilers unless it's for a show that is genuinely different/exciting which is what B is.
I was wondering the whole ep how it would happen, I guessed at the natural acquiescence that Jimmy had. I was surprised at how Nucky handled it though...there shall be fireworks over that land deal...tehe.

Placed in spoiler even though it has been broadcast.biggrin

Is that the last in series? Can't wait for series 3.

It is, 12 is a good amount for an American show.
I was hoping for a song ending like series 1, but ho-hey.

Halb, any chance of putting spoiler in for those who have not seen it yet? Especially as you reveal the main plot and a rather large turning point in the series.

Do not reveal unless you want to know everything of interest that happens in the finale
Personally, I think that was a crap way to end second season and I think enough to make me turn off for the 3rd, the trial was rushed, bit of a pisstake actually, I mean a season or so getting the trial and they end it like that? Having a laugh surely? What a load of tosh, there was nothing about trial date, then all of a sudden we are at the trial and Nucky has married, Neary is dead and the others have changed their stories, all rushed into 15 minutes?

Then they kill Jimmy off just like that? On top of that they are going down far too much of a religious route for my liking with Margaret, especially with the constant giving to the church, sorry I think I am out, the last two episodes just seem cobbled together, I don't know who wrote the last few episodes but it has gone down hill, I see little reason continuing with a 3rd season now, Jimmy is dead, his dad is dead, Nuckys trial is over, Van Alden is something Muller, Nucky has his roads even though his stupid religious wife has signed the deeds over to the church.

And the end song, for the love of fk.

Very poor.

Seen the trailer a few times now.
The Sopranos has just finished.

It is ace, very artistic.

yes

Please to see more focus on Chalky as well. One of my favourite characters (as was Omar in The Wire).

I am starting to find Margaret increasingly dull/annoying though.

After the way the last season ended Episode 1 should be very interesting indeed... wink

Not too bothered about Homeland (love Boardwalk Empire though, and I usually don't like this type of thing..) I cannot sit through another 10+ episodes of will he, won't he, and then have to suffer another cop out at the end.

yes

Tried watching Homeland on a few occasions now and just can't get into it. You've just confirmed by suspicions about how they were going to handle the story...

BE and Dexter should keep me happy till Christmas hopefully.

Holy frak. What an opening ep. I watched the last two before it, so it was fresh in my memory. Some shocking scenes in S3e1. Shame, I really liked that character.

Yeah, gutted. I don't get it either. Mind you I didn't do a S2 refresher so am feeling a bit lost.

He set up Half Face's only friend. Nothing to do with gangsterism or sides etc. It was simply a revenge killing.

I get the feeling that dog will come back to bite them. biggrin

That shot was shocking, and really well done, I watched it a few times. Very graphic.

I thought that about the dog as well, and it was in my drams last night!biggrin
