I was watching and wondering how would it end?! Didn't get that! But then I hoped Fatty Arbuckle would kill his White Walker, oh well a year to wait!
Loved the dragons and how they handled that scene, just smoked that nasty old warlock! The walking around the tower bit was ace.biggrin

In the penultimate episode what did the Hound shout when he led the counter-charge? Something about cocks?
After seeing Mandon Moore slice Halfman's face yeah it did look like it could be one of those surprise head slides off scene. And how gutting did everyone feel with the injustice of how Tyrion was treated in the last episode? Glad he still has his nose though.biggrin
The explosion was amazing, with wildire, the effects were better than films, and I wasn't sure if they could top that, but an army of zombies, wow. That first zombie was so cool looking as well. I think the first shot of a WW we have they looked darker, and smaller eyes.

I have said this before, but I think that shows like this have really turned the tables, and now make Hollywood 'blockbusters' look like shallow TV shows. Prometheus was OK, but this is bloody fantastic, much better on every level. For me, it is more enjoyable than any of the Lord of the Rings films, with the added bonus of being adult orientated, rather than pandering to the lowest common denominator.

I've said for a while now that TV is the new 'golden age' for moving pictures.

I'd also argue that the top flight video games are more 'epic' than films nowadays.

Hope its not a spoiler but there is definitely 2 types of "zombie" the Wight walkers and then the Wights themselves. That was clear from the show I thought. Ones on horseback looked totally different from the normal reanimated corpses.

The Hound yells "anyone dies with a clean sword I'll rape their corpse" which is up there with "theres no cure for being a " as a classic line.

It doesn't, the game has been almost universally panned. The story is good as you would expect but the game play is repetitive and its full of bugs. If you want a good RPG get Skyrim and pretend it's Westeros.

Does anyone else feel that after reading the books and watching season 2, this season has been over-hyped?

Dont get me wrong, its good but there seems to have been less fighting, less nakedness, less of everything yet the budget was increased
I thought this season was a bit flat. 9 episodes of not much and one episode of 'holy st that was good'.

Im glad Kaleeshe (just made that spelling up as Ive no idea how to spell it) got her dragons back, that scene were she walked round the base of the tower was brilliant!

The ending was fantastic too, those zombie things were pretty creepy but very well done.

Yeah I agree about the show. And yeah LotR was just MTV trolls ans goblins.

HBO has pumped silly money into this, they must be making it back?
They have had ten years of making the best shows on the box, with the Sopranos and the Wire standing out as their twin towers. How do they make money back apart from US subscriptions and selling them abroad?

Some thoughts. They will need money as the dragons grow, I forsee a little problem there is they dare skimp.

Anyone else miss the Great Jon?

I miss the Great Jon, wonder where he went, cant be expensive as he isnt a top billing actor.

HBO make a killing on these, the DVD and blu ray sales alone apparently paid for the first series twice over.

Plus the networks pay to screen it, its sold to a lot of countries now

Surely the actual cost to animate the dragons will be similar, regardless of their size?

As said, scale, they'll be interacting with bigger things they smash and burn? Plus the detail will have to be kept up in scale or increased. Little dragons look pretty good so far, but as they get bigger they might tend to look a lil wky if they don't detail them enough.
