That's a great moment in hindsight.
The whole thing will be a helluva thing to watch in its entirety in a few years...I'm also thinking the scenes that were cut...
It is especially if you buy into the theories about R+L=J as what he says doesnt stop the theories. I imagine if the theory is correct that will be a great moment in hindsight. The whole thing will be a helluva thing to watch in its entirety in a few years...I'm also thinking the scenes that were cut...

Has anyone else seen anything about this new book?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0345537262
Apparently features a new Game of Thrones story in it, but doesn't reveal much.

Out of interest, I live in Westeros (spelt Wester Ross). Fewer big tits here, except on the road.
I believe that you actually live North of the Wall which makes you a Wildling if you take the idea that it is set in Medieval England and the Lannistes are the Tudors of history etc etc. So you get hot red heads but run the risk of being eaten by Thenns! Yes it is the theory that Lyanna fell in love with Rhaegar and ran away with him. Robert believes that Rhaegar kidnapped her but lots of people believe they were in love. There was a clue recently as well when the Red Viper was talking to Tyrion he said that Rhaegar was in love with another woman. Its also hinted at in one of the dream sequences of Eddard at the Tower as it talks about a woman lying in a bed of blood which could mean that she was attacked but could also mean childbirth

Whats with burning the walkers, why cant they just lop off the head?
north of the wall they burn every dead body they find so they don't turn into white walkers. fire is what killed the white walker that attacked the gaffer of the crows and was killed by mr know nothing.dudleybloke said:

They're not zombies as we know them from film & tv so if you chop off their head they would probably just get angry, but because you chopped their head off you would never know. This makes them very dangerous. Burning destroys the body completely.
But if you lope the head off and if the head is still alive, the body can no longer function as it doesnt have a brain (as such) or is the body just meant to continue rampaging?
Then theres the valyrian steel and 'dragon glass', not sure if VS does anything to them but the DG melts them per se.
Ive read the books and just rewatching series 2 and its not been mentioned so far.

Valyrian Steel is only a theory so far based on something Sam found in one of his books. (And that is technically a spoiler I think although not sure, think it's later it's discussed) There isn't a whole lot of it around at the moment. Longclaw is meant to be Valyrian Steel but if you check it wasn't used in the attack so not sure. You also have 2 different types of white walkers. There are the reanimated dead bodies and then there are the much bigger wights. In the end of season 2 I think you can see the difference in them but it's not 100% obvious. In fact it may be the other way round. Anyway the masters reanimate the slaves. They aren't zombies. It's necromancy really. The 2 that Jon Snow killed were reanimated dead Nightswatch whole Sam killed one of the master things. Those aren't spoilers so don't go moaning about it either!

1.Fire- This one is very well known, and has been proven by Jon Snow.
2.Obsidian- This has worked at least once, but isn't really well known. The Wildings seem to have these weapons, and might know more.
3.Valyrian Steel- This has been speculated, but never definitively proved. It was a discussion between Sam and Jon at the beginning of book 4 (And book 5) where this revelation came to play. When looking in the archives of the Night's Watch for a way to combat the Others Sam reads about "Dragonsteel". He and Jon Snow think with this Valyrian Steel may be meant.
Chopping their heads off wouldn't do much based on the arm that was reanimated when severed.

I dont think you are quite right and Ive just been and checked to make sure. 1.Fire- This one is very well known, and has been proven by Jon Snow.

Its confusing because the show buggers about with the names calling them white walkers instead of "Others" and they also redesigned the Others costume between S1 Ep 1 where it kills the Nightswatch and S2 Ep 10 where one screams while holding a blue crystal spear.
The Others/White Walkers are a completely different race. They are the big pale things that look like this
It has not been confirmed anywhere that they can be killed by Fire. They are scared of fire or in the book terms it "dismays" them. It has been guessed by many people that Fire hurts them because of this fear. Plus the books are called a Song of Ice and Fire. The only confirmed method that we are aware of (and this includes the books) is Dragonglass because Sam kills one with it.
The Wights are the zombie things that look like this
These are killed by fire. It hasnt been confirmed that Dragonglass can kill them and chopping them up as you say makes them angry (and presumably you end up fighting lots of angry bits of body) In the books Sam tries to kill Wight Big Paul or Tall Paul (not the DJ) with Obsidian and it shatters on his armour
If you would like to read more (and there is a LOT of detail here by some people that make me feel very normal and not nerdy) read at this link
There are huge spoilers on this site though so dont read it unless you have read all the books. (and even then there is probably spoilers on there)
