Just read on a forum. May be a spoiler which we may get told in the future or it is already out there.
Others are created by using their magic on living humans whereas they create Wights by using their magic on corpses.

Quite funny watching the tame nerds on the Thronecast talking about it and not spoiling it. Everyone knows who the bloody thing is. They almost certainly do

I'm sorry if i'm posting spoilers. I did put I don't know if it is a spoiler or not. If people don't want to read it then they don't carry on. Posting from a mobile too and the full site is down.
Wights

White walkers
http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/White_Walkers

The 'thing' at the end actually looked more like a Wight than a White walker to me. An actual human.

BlackST, do you know about the book thread? Can discuss it there without spoilers but might not be so nice to speculate on it here.

I'd say thats all there going to show us about that dude for a very long time. I think the next few episodes will all be about Tyrion, Arya, Stannis and Sansa, which I would have been satisfied with before but now I want to know all about that guy, the nights watch and the white walkers.

It makes me think how long will the T.V series go on for? Will it be a Friends and go on for a decade?

No. 2 or 3 more seasons max.
We are already into some of the last made book right now.
Danearys to go to Westeros the middle of the next series?
She will need to get there eventually.
I think the question is, what will be awaiting her if she does actually end up there?

Well, I thought that was very rude of her. The least she could have done was offer a quick hand job.

Great episode.

Getting a bit confused with the altered story lines and blurring of the books but this season has really cranked it up a notch.

I'm reading the books and watching the TV series, I'm just starting A Feast for Crows. Can somebody who has read all the books and watched the TV series confirm that the story is quite messed about with on the TV series?

I'm getting really quite confused with characters popping up where I didn't expect them, and things that happen seeming out of sync. I don't mind as there is so much detail in the books you simply couldn't put it all in the TV series, but I'd like to know that I'm not going mad.

The TV producers have taken an opportunity to stream-line the story, and to show it all in chronological order. This means long drivelly descriptions of meals and clothing and (oh God - WTF cares?) get shown in one well-detailed 10 second scene, and the parallel stories told in consecutive books are played out in the right order.

I never thought TV/film would be better than a book but this (and Watchmen) proves it can be.
