This is really good, Series 4 VFX reel - https://vimeo.com/100095868
Helps you to spot the real from the CGI and maybe the locations if you happen to be over there or to see just how much isn't real in some cases.
Peter Dinklage is CGI !!!!

Just imagine what the budget could be if they get the go ahead to make the movie!
Their budget for the seasons (Series) must be getting bigger year on year with the increase in popularity and more people willing to back it based against the revenue it must generate. There cant be many countries it isn't sold into now.

That's amazing, the stuff you don't even consider as CGI like changing the lay of the land.
Brilliant. What's cool is it shows the future of video games as well. At some point in the relative near future the processing power and GPU power will match up with a viable VR system and it will be bonkers.
That really is quite incredible isnt it?!
I've always been fascinated by how they manage to map the track of the camera to a 3D model... i mean photoshopping a still picture, fine, that makes complete sense, but generating a 3D model that continues to pan/tilt/rotate along with the track of the camera and continue to accurately manipulate the source footage - i think that's seriously impressive!

Im not 100% sure but I seem to recall that a lot of the software was developed by Peter Jacksons studio (Weta?) for the first LOTR trilogy?
I think he told a story about how they created software to make people move in groups logically during the battle scenes but the first time they tried it out one force ran off

Might get some of these in time for the next series....

Reminds me of an old RPG game on the Amiga years ago, they tried to give the monsters a bit of AI so they'd interact with each other a bit and create more challenges for the players.Trouble was, they had a bit too much AI and all the monsters met in the middle of the level and waited to attack the player en-mass
