It certainly didn't say anything about how it all ends.

He's 66 now and doesn't exactly look in great health does he. I certainly wouldn't be shocked if he died before he finished this.

Not on George's Game of Thrones, the ones who die are the ones you don't expect. David and Dan are worried people.

Ps. David and Dan know how it finishes, George has confided in them.

There's a few people who know how it ends for certain characters as well. I think I read that several of the main characters know what happens to their character but as said above David and Ben plus his agent are the only ones who know the lot

Off on holiday in a couple of weeks and need some reading material. Has anyone (Im guessing a few of you have) read World of Ice and Fire?

imo the books are significantly better than the tv series.

I read the GoT book way backs. This is a follow up book that was published last year detailing the history.

... and IMO, the opposite. The books drone on and on about details I've no interest in, and contain characters that seem to have little or no relevance to the main story, whereas the TV series cuts out the crap and focussed the story more. However, The World of Ice and Fire looks quite interesting as it fleshes out the history alluded to in the main book/TV series.

I enjoyed most of the books but I am glad the TV show was binned a lot of the dull stuff from the books (AFFC - 778 pages of Brienne wandering aimlessly around Westeros and very detailed descriptions of what Jon Snow had for breakfast).

Unfortunately (I am guessing due to budget) the TV show has also binned a lot of the action.

The TV has binned a lot of the waffle and irrelevant stuff. The books have got worse, book 4 was terrible and book 5 was only slightly better.

Spoiler tagging speculation but it's fairly safe I think

Interestingly I've read that in this series someone major is going to die who isn't dead in the books. I don't think its a spoiler as I have no idea who it is but it's nice not to know what is going to happen.

Personally I hope it's Dany getting eaten by her fking dragons. She's turning into a right emo and it's annoying.

Each to their own but of the whole I much prefer the series-which for what I like and read is unusual generally. Really enjoy the background/lore that was created but the waffle got on my tits, describing every outfit, meal etc were particular pet hates.

I like both equally.

Book has weaknesses...series has weaknesses...

Book has vast depth and intrigue that the show cannot match...the programme brings to live the action and looks that the book cannot.
