Bronn's back!!! Yay!!
Im not sure I like the way this is going with the bron and jamie story. Its a fair departure from the books.
What books? Hahahahhahahhhhahahahahhah!
I like the way that the show is going - looks like they have dropped a lot of the dull plotlines from the books.

apparently this season is where there are radical departures from the books

Maybe it's because George RR Martin has told the producers how it's going to end and they're having to start to develop story arcs that are a bit different to meet the agreed conclusion.

They also seem to have dropped some good stuff though

LSH, The Greyjoys Victarion & Euron are what I miss the most.

Hardly recognised Siddig El Tahir El Fadil El Siddig Abderrahman Mohammed Ahmed Abdel Karim El Mahdi ( aka Alexander Siddig ) in the role - I remember him like this

I warmed to Victarion by the end of ADWD but most of the IronBorn crap bored me especially with each of them having multiple names (Aeron/Damphair/Wet-blanket etc)

He also did an excellent job of portraying Hannibal Barca and is also good in da Vinci's Demons...

I'm pretty sure that was filmed at the Real Alcazar in Sevilla, not Granada.
Indeed, pointed it out to the other half and the web confirms Seville as a filming location

Damn that's where I know him from as well! Knew he looked familiar but didn't find why in his bio...
Wasn't that some sort of doctor on DS9?

Really liked the way Tywins brother knew what Cersei was at and told her to fk off. However Cersei really is whittling down the small council, big power play there?
Also my brother made a good point, did the dragon return because Dani killed a man instead of showing mercy?
Yeah, I loved how they showed the superiority of Brienne's sword.

True, a lot of the Greyjoy sections can drag on, Damphair should be cut (as he seems to be). But no Victarion or Euron is odd, especially when you consider where Victarion was at the end of ADWD. But the show is really beginning to chop and change from the book now, much more so than before.

Thing is though, that was a knight she struck at? So presumably didn't have a crappy sword anyway.

Is the valerian steel really that strong that it can just shatter normal swords?!

Also ... do we know how Ned wound up with it?

A Stark heirloom, passed down through the generations.

What has happened to Balon in the show? They had the Melisandre magic ritual with the kings blood that was suppose to kill off Joffery, Rob and Balon but Balon hasn't been mentioned since

From what I can remember that I've read online, Valyrian steel is in extremely short supply, I think one of the Targaryens gave every major house a Valyrian steel sword many years (centuries, maybe) ago. SO that's how Ned got his...

IIRC, Tywins father actually lost the Lannisters sword - and a Valyrian steel sword is the one thing the Lannisters didn't have and couldn't obtain... Ice (the name of Neds sword) being re-smelted at the start of Season 4 means so much to the Lannisters and its at that point where they're at the very top of their game...

I'm sure I've got some of that wrong, book readers, do your worst! biggrin
