I felt a little bit cheated, surely the most skilled living knight and the leader of the unsullied can take on a few rioters without getting routed, i mean the knight (not naming names for those who havent seen it yet) beat people like the mountain and the older stark brother in tournys so these guys should have had the been no challenge.
I think he killed about ten people before he was even touched. That's about the best you can be.mat13 said:

Yeah I agree. They were meant to be amazing fighters and they died disappointing deaths richtea78 said:

I think that is juxtaposed against the Bronn/Jaime chat earlier about 'how would you like to go?'...Sometimes 'names' simply die in back streets and there are no songs to be sung.I don't see why the Unsullied leader would (automatically be assumed) be a great one-on-one fighter, though he might well have been. But in this series we have seen the limitation of the Unsullied as an adaptive police force, they are hopeless. Their might is in numbers on the field as automatons. And staves/poles are not great weapon for fighting in such close quarters, I thought the leader did quite well considering.
The point on weapons also reminds me of least year, when the point was made that in close quarters, the best weapon is a dagger. All the Sons had daggers, Barry had a longsword (best for open field) and the lad had a stave.
I thought he did pretty well but I agree that for a "painter who used only red" I'd have preferred it if he laid waste to a metric stload ala inverse ninja rule and was knee deep in blood by the end. I was thinking something like The Matrix sequel or 300.
Is it recorded how many he killed at the Trident? Pretty sure he killed two kingsguard whilst unarmed himself so it's obviously no idle boast how good he is. And remember Robb found himself at a serious disadvantage in CQC with his hefty sword.
To be honest, the fighting has seemed pretty inconsistent in the TV series, probably due to time constraints. In the book Jamie is more than a match for Brienne but just too malnourished and tired to keep fighting. In the TV series it looks too easy for her, but they couldn't have dragged it out for forever. I think the Hound has probably had the best "death" so far, dying like he lived.
It would be interesting to find the kill differential of dismounted knights vs lesser soldiers back in Europe if such a record exists. The bible has some pretty wild figures for some of King David's "mighty men", but doesn't really describe who they were up against or what equipment was in their favour.

Barry was a Kingsguard at the trident, he wouldn't have fought any.
In the books (like the show) hough Brienne at no time was trying to ill Jaime, it hampered her a lot, though I recall she was amazed at the strength that Jaime still had after being inactive for a long time.
I recall last year we have 'Fookin KIng of Fookin Gin Alley beat Jon and his Valyrian blade in CQC.
Oh yeah, the trailer for next week looks fantastic.

I don't think we actually saw the Hound die though did we, he was just left to die on some mountain after his fight with Brian.I quite like his character so I'm hoping he didn't actually die and will make a reappearance at some point.

They're not definitely dead tho are they?
Although sir whats hisface being gone would pace the return of the other sir what's his face
Exactly. It's a little too neat so I hope that doesn't happen but even if sir what's his face isn't dead he's probably severely injured and not capable of carrying on.Although sir whats hisface being gone would pace the return of the other sir what's his face
The other sir whatshisface just strokes back in because of it will seem very contrived.
What! No more Ser Barristan?!
Must pave the way for Tyrion then?

I was quite disappointed at the death of Ser Barriston and Grey Worm (pressumably), partly because it's another departure from the books and I quite like them too.
Also the deaths of the rest of the unsullied. Given they're meant to be brutally efficient killers they were slaughtered relatively easily

To be honest I didn't enjoy the Unsullied vs Sons of the Harpy fight scenes. Grey Worm and Ser Barristan dying would be a bit of a tragedy, but it does set up Jorah, Varys and Tyrion to step in.
Will be interesting to see Baelish back in Kings Landing. I can see some backlash for the goings on at his brothel.
