4 Horsemen on the cliff. Subtle...I like it.

Great episode, I had no idea that was going to happen. It was rather chilling too.

Really enjoyed tonights episodes, i agree that losing the bag of dragon glass daggers was a hit, but now they know that valyarian steel also kills the walkers, theres not a huge amount of it around but there is probably a sword for every serious swordsman character, off the top of my head Ned Starks old sword was split into two, theres johns sword, then a few others as well.

Some of the actors who've appeared on Thronecast have said that it's episode 10 that will "break the internet", so I can't wait for that if this was just the 'build up'.

Cracking episode tonight, it's going to be a long 7 days.
I take this to mean a major book caracter that has not died is killed in the episode. My money is on tyrion, danny or john.
I reckon Ramsay will either kill Stannis' daughter, unleashing blood magic or will kill Millisandre, unleashing god knows what.

Kings Landing will also be fantastic I'm sure.

Young kid servant of Jon is obviously going to try and poison/stab him but I eon't think the story will allow him to die.

Tommen could easily be toast. If Cersei confesses, he's not the rightful heir. Also we haven't seen frankenMountain yet. Whose to sayvhe will be any more loyal to Cersei than High Sparrow? Hell, for all we know he could be a white walker!

Plus OMG epic episode, etc, etc. Don't think there was one thing that wasn't awesome.

okay, can anyone explain why the just introduced female wildling couldn't bring herself to kill white walker children, they were already dead to all intents and purposes, so really WTF?

just sheer shock at seeing dead children like that - especially having just packed her own off

I'd bet money on a particular death happening....a certain name being wiped off a certain list...though I don't think that that is the 'break the internet' moment.
Please tell me you have worked it out!?

Btw I think this should be in the book thread

Those who've read the books, why haven't we seen Brann and his little crew at all this series?

Loved last night's episode!

I haven't read the books, but I heard their storyline is in the same place in the books as when we left them North of The Wall last season.

She mentioned losing her sisters...

Quick question - what happened to the Baratheon VS sword? Presumably Robert had it?

Thought she was gonna be Jon's new love interest so was a bit shocked that she didn't even last the episode.

Nothing to do with books, it' detective work in the episodes we have seen!
Meryn fking Trant!

which reminds me of more cool lines.

"The greatest sword of Bravoos was killed by Meryn 'fking' Trant?!"
"Meryn TRant had armour...and a big fking sword!"

'For when you go back to Winterhell.'
'Winterfell.'
'You sure?'
'Yeah.'

Awesome episode and frankly this series needed a shot in the arm.

My favourite line / cultural reference - 'I fking hate Thenns' biggrin Cheeky.

Edit - Thenns, not white walkers, derr.

So what was the deal with all the people behind the gate? One minute they're trying to get in, then they're undead. Why didnt the WW do the same once they were through the gate?

And the size of the undead army eek

Even if Stannis had taken his army north the undead couldve easily double their numbers

I don't recall it being mentioned they had one, the Baratheons weren't the top family from Storm's End way back.
In the show there has been four blades mentioned. LOngclaw, Littlefinger's dagger, Brienne's sword, Joffrey'sTommen's sword.
I also recall from the books that Sam's dad had one, Heartsbane.
Seems in the books, Tyrion mentioned there are 200 blades on the continent.
THis article reckons though that dragonglass and VS won't matter. The Thenn mentioned that dragonglass is abundant north of the wall.
SPOILERS in the article.

They were slaughtered. I don't recall that the Wildlings were raised by the Night King at that point, those coming through the gates & that we saw the Wildlings fighting were skeletons/rotted bodies, not fresh dead. Nor were they wearing the white/black 'camo' clothing that the wildlings were wearing.

The Night King raised all of them at the end of the fight, as the boat left. Hence the scale of the army.
