i have read all the books, and yet I have not watched a single episode from this series yet, because the wife wants to watch them on catch up on now tv when they are all available.
Not sure if you're aware, but NowTV have already begun pulling the oldest episodes from the on demand service for this series. A friend of mine subscribed to NowTV from episode 4 onwards but sadly missed the deadline for episodes 1 and 2, so has had to go without.Won't be a problem if you're OK to wait until much later when they release the entirety of Series 5 for consumption.

I haven't read the books so this is pure conjecture, but do we think we will be looking at a straight shoot out between 3 dragons and 3 white walkers?
I think there are more than three white walkers though..Spanna said:
Not sure if it has been covered so, why was the White Walker's weapon able to disintegrate the Thenn's weapon and other things?
I know that Dragonglass and Valyrian steel isn't vulnerable to it, but why was the other stuff?
As others have said, the mechanism isn't explained, but iirc the very first scene in the book has a young lord in the nights watch with a notably fine castle forged blade that shatters when a white walker grabs it. So thermal shock/magic probably. Loved the way Jons blade sang when he blocked the walker.I know that Dragonglass and Valyrian steel isn't vulnerable to it, but why was the other stuff?
The analogue to the scene is the opening of Ep01s1, but I don't remember anyone's sword shattering.
- book history*
Dragonglass daggers were made by the Children of the Forest, known for their use of magic,
Valaryian steel and even The Wall were made with assistance from magic, so their resistance is probably due to being charmed in some way rather than any innate quality of the steel.

I think there are more than three white walkers though. Three dragons for three riders sounds more likely.(sorry, couldn't resist)

The "Breaking the internet" comment. Are we sure that's about a death and not Cersei? I thinking of the High Septons naked walk of shame. If they make Cersei do the same thing it would be quite a sight and possibly "Break the internet"
I doubt that nakedness would be in her contract. I think she opted out from day one and has had a body double in some fleshy scenes. Either a big or popular character dies, an unlikely alliance is made or there is a big swing in power on the Iron Throne.
The battle of Winterfell will be the climax I think, everything so far has led us to believe that Stannis is facing a quick defeat and most likely death. He will probably go with the power play of sacrificing his daughter to conjure a Bolton bashing demon (or whatever that shadowy thing would be called).

I won't say what, for fear of spoilers....but there was a scene filmed in "Kings Landing" (Dubrovnik??) which loads of people captured with their mobiles in summer last year which did the rounds in the tabloids; I assume that is the answer to the question above about breaking the internet.
