I can't help but think of that annoying Tesco advert with the barcode scanner whenever I see the king.

They should spend the whole of the next episode showing Daenerys learning how to please a man with her slave. That would tie all the stories together nicely lol

God I hated the little prince in the books but he is so much more annoying on screen. And yes he does look like an insect. Stupid little weeble that he is!
Sansa also irritated the hell out of me in the books. Nice to see she is just as priccy and useless in the series. Her weaknesses are showing through nicely.

Does that odd looking nasty little prince get his comeuppance at some point – and please don’t say more of the dire wolfs die!

Hahah it would be spoiling to say yes or no. Be rest assured that you will hate some characters and learn to love them and love some characters and learn to hate them. And the wolves still have a part to play aswell be it good or bad.

There is a nice interactive map and guide to the Houses <<here>>

Should help following who's who etc.

after reading this thread I watched it last night expecting a fantasy epic ...I turned it on just as some little titted beauty was getting her back door kicked in by some brute. Now I see why you all watch it ;-)

Thanks for that link, just read the entire site. Really helpful information on all of the houses, and the appendix fills in all of the missing information that was alluded-to in the first couple of episodes. Well worth a look.

Thanks from me too, it also helped me to recognise the different characters and their relationships too each other as we have been introduced to so many people already and I was struggling to keep up with them.

The pimp and his sister mentioned them I think and then she bathed in water that was considered too hot for her...so it made me think she has dragon blood in her, maybe her g-g-g-g-g-grandaddy made it with Smaug.
And then we got dragoneggs, which might be just rocks or real dragons eggsbiggrin

There is always one, and this time it's me!

Was so looking forward to this but found it boring, immature and cliched.

I won't be watching more.

It's fantasy, it was never going to be Shakespeare. I think it's definitely watchable, even though the political scheming is a bit GCSE Politics. Hopefully once the warring starts things will pick up.

That said, the Daenerys stuff is just sub-porn for the Hollyoaks/FHM crowd, and boring as f***.

Quite a bit of Shakey was fantasy, just because something is fantasy doesn't mean it's not quality. PMQ time is also GCSE politics.
Is the Daenerys stuff in the book?

Yes but you have to use your imagination. So the book version is really dirty.........;)

Also she is 12 or 13 in the book, so its a little bit wrong! As is Sansa.

Its the one critiscm I have of Martin is that he is a little bit explicit with this sort of thing imo however his justification is that it is historically accurate
