O/T but I watched 'Salmon Fishing in The Yemen' last night - funny to see Lord Varys as a fat civil servant with hair hehe
Don't think I have seen him in anything else. Is it any good?
Yeah, it's ok, I liked it. 6.5-7/10 probably. Nice enough flick. Great role for Kristin Scott Thomas in it.

I have just finished the second book of A Dance with Dragons.

It's got yet another serious "OMG I didn't expect that!" moment.

I have now read all of the books in the series and EVERYTHING remains unresolved. I can see at least 4 more books to come. Hope Sky have the appetite to do them all

Yeah book 5 is probably the biggest WTF moment I have had without spoiling it for anyone.

If you want to read my theory of what happened click the spoiler below but its only a theory

Jon will be resurrected by Melisandre the same way his mum was but as Jon is a Warg he has moved his conscious into ghost so when the body is restored he will be fine. If he is dead I will be mega pissed off!

I had actually forgotten that. It wasn't that big a WTF for me, because I was expecting it. There were signs it was going to happen for ages. I hadn't been that good at that sort of stuff in the previous books, but since I read all the books concurrently I had increased my awareness in the story.biggrin

My theory is

Jon will be resurrected as a Wight like the ranger that helped Bran or as you say by Melisandre. Was Bolton telling the truth about Stannis?

I reckon the prince of dorne will be resurrected - didnt one of the red priests say that a prince will be reborn from fire?

Jon will probably come back to life, same way as Lady Cat and Donderin did

I've enjoyed the books and will read the rest of the series as/if they come out but I can't help feeling the story's lost it way a wee bit. Killing main characters off for a WTF moment is fine but do it too many times and you lose the soul of the story. Bringing them back by “magic” feels to me like George has painted himself into a corner with the plot and needs a get out.

I think I would have preferred to see separate stories set in the same world rather than this huge epic tale.

Jack Gleeson was at the Edinburgh Fringe the last few days - my FB feed has been full of people saying he was getting serious abuse from the public. Talk about not being able to differentiate between life and art biggrin

Maybe he takes an odd sort of pleasure in that? It is in effect an endorsement of his acting ability and his portrayal of Joffrey.

I read a while back that he's actually a theology student and he intends to give up acting after GoT for a life in academia. Next up is a Masters degree in Ancient Hebrew!

I think Jon's body will be OK due to the cold. The old maester sort of prophesied this be talking about how the cold prolongs or preserves or something.
I think he ability to warg will help him not go completely nuts, like Kat has done.

yes It's a shame I wasn't there, I would have genuinely liked to have congratulated him on it.
