I don't think all of the Targaryens are fireproof like Danerys and possibly once you're dead it doesn't count anyway??
That chap wasn't very heat proof when Drogo gave him a molten crown!
I think fire and molten gold are a bit different! hehe

Good question!

Also, whist we're on the subject of Grand Maester Aemon, does he die in the books? His death came out of nowhere so I was guessing that the actor might have been written out because he doesn't want to do it anymore - he is pretty old! hehe
All I could think of was, 'he's so old...and that looks fking freezing, they must have padded him with serous layers to make sure he doesn't perish for real!!!!'

GRR is on record that the Danni fire survival was a one off thing. It was a bit of a special event and I think the eggs acted like a ceramic heatsink, sucking the heat to generate the life of the dragons...plus the three people who died.

He died in a different way. Was quite strange seeing him die this episode as I expected the book plot to eventually happen. Who knows if it will now? It was boring anyway and kind of led to nowhere.

I dont like all the changes from the book.

In fact season 4 was a let down and im barely even excited for mondays this season. It feels to me the show has got so big they have just decided to go with what they want. the first 2 seasons were practically screen plays from the book and were fantastic. later seasons not so much.

I guess being quite horrible about it - the dude is in his 90s, how much longer can he keep on acting for? At least this way he gets to go out on his own terms

Sensational.

Sorry mods but a man must obey.

MOD EDIT: No, you really must not. I want to be clear about this; that is never, ever acceptable. Normally that's an outright ban straight off the bat (we take it very seriously) but I can see you did try to spoiler it (even though it didn't work).

Thanks for that, some of us are of an age where we may never see a set like that again...unless we pay for the privilege.

Just to be clear; here on PistonHeads, no boobs, ever. No matter the reason.

I like them as much as the next man; but not while I'm at work.

Apologies, I did try to make sure it would not be seen by anyone who hadn't explicitly clicked to see it. frown

Cracking though they were, the rules of posting are clear.

Did anybody else watch Thronecast this week and get mildly annoyed by whoever that celeb guest was? Ranting about rape and not following the books, despite starting off saying she's never read them.

yup - one of the scissor sisters apparently. as if Sue Perkins wasn't enough to make me want to punch my tv on a weekly basis that guest made me think I'd (nearly!) rather listen to Ed Balls. Thronecast has really gone downhill this season

Can someone remind me what the likable warrior dude in the slave pit who will surely become a less-likable stone dude shortly, did to ps off the Queen? I forget...

He was spying on her for the Lanisters originally.
