Who is Benjen?
Bran's uncle last seen in S1E3, he said he would chat to Jon Snow about family stuf.ben5575 said:
Who's the dude who was revealed in the dining hall where the red wedding went down? He's not nice, I remember that. And a bit wet as well iirc?
Lord Frey, the spinless gimp who helped Roose Bolton and Tywin Lannister kill Robb Stark in S3.ben5575 said:
Is that black water? What is black water and does that have anything to do with the guy who killed his father on the bridge and wants to build 1000 ships. Or is that something to do with Fingers?
Black water? Euron killed his elder brother on the bridge, and took his 'kingdom'. Fingers?ben5575 said:
Plus since when has the fat guy been been a Lord or son of a Lord?
Since he was introduced. S1E2?ben5575 said:
Oh and what is the deal with Brienne's sword carrier kid. Wasn't it suggested that he was (or had the potential to be) a big deal?
He possibly had a big dick.Bullett said:
Yeah, but it was on fire. Good solution to the undead issue.
Benjen is Ned's Brother, took the black was first ranger and disappeared in series one.
Yup, if I was in a Legend of Zelda style game, I'd want flaming sword and flaming ball-and-chain upgrades...and flaming arrows. Benjen is Ned's Brother, took the black was first ranger and disappeared in series one.

I can see Sansa, Jon and Davos rallying support at House Mormont, but who's Tim McInnerny's house with the fist Sigil? Is it house Percy?
I found it, I just liked the joke.

Much obliged
Black water? Back water? Water? The place that Little Finger told Sansa was potentially onside? Is that where the red wedding was or is that somewhere else completely? Fingers as in pointy rock place with weird sister/Theon action?
Nice to know about his dick though.
Plus obviously the whole Sparrow thing is a ruse

House Percy would be good.
Nice!
I took a guess, http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/House_Glover
Seems we see Deppwood Motte at last. I knew Tim was in it, had no idea who he'd be.

Ok, I think we're clear timewise now at least...

I liked this episode because for the first time this series I have no idea what's going on.

You sound a lot like my girlfriend. Do you spend most of the episodes texting too, and then asking what happened a minute earlier?Who is Benjen?

Ha sorry. No, I do watch and can generally deal with character overload on a season basis, but sadly it all goes a little awry when there's a year gap in between (more so when you're referencing characters briefly seen 5 years ago!). This season has been really easy to follow (and ironically slightly less enjoyable as a result) but it is back on form now, so I no longer actually know what's going on beyond the main characters.Fish. Not Water. Will remember.

Sam to go back the wall with Gilly baby and sword followed by Lord Tarly and his men?
Can't see him going the Citadel and with Gilly and the baby unless there is really something there for him?
Perhaps he can't be touched inside the Citadel, rather like the Vatican....ok probably bad example. Can't see him going the Citadel and with Gilly and the baby unless there is really something there for him?
Ok a bit of a filler episode is the impression I was left with, but the speed which we're moving at this series is starting to blow my tiny mind!
I think far too much time was given to Sam and little miss inbred-I care little about either now they're away from the wall.
Thinking of it Arya has been given a lot of screen time since she landed in Bravos just to chuck being a faceless person away.
Kings landing was a bit of an anti-climax. I'd assume Margery will have a end game, she want's to fk Cersei over no doubt. I see the last of the episodes titles have been released so we can expect a big battle in the North in episode 9.
So in Benjen a white? Does this mean he can't go south of the wall?

now next week does look pretty damn good.As for this week - Sparrow has got the king and queen properly hooked and has played the Lannisters and Tyrells to perfection. Good to see Benjen turn up again and as for Drogon f-me he's a big lad!! Going by what was written about the Black Dread it would appear that Drogon is actually even bigger (and when you remember the mess Balerion made of Harrenhal that could be interesting!)
Assuming the Night King can't now follow him everywhere it would be pretty awesome being Bran in winterfell with your own weirwood tree, unlimited hot water and a xragon landing pad.
Glad Arya's on the run, her time with the faceless men turned one of the most exciting characters into one of the most boring. I can see the Waif screwing up by trying to make her suffer and getting a needle in the throat.
It's also interesting to see how Tyrion has been villified in the Essos play, would explain why he's so distrusted by the common people.
Jamie looked badass in armour on a horse, it's such a shame we'll never get to see him live up to his two handed potential. I thought the lovey-dovey bit with Cersei was a bit forced, like the episode was short on time so needed them to repeat the whole "only we matter" thing.
I can't decide if Tommen is smart or if he's a puppet of the church and the pretty girl. Margery is obviously faking the piety, so has she cut a deal with the sparrow for shared control of Tommen, or has she fooled the Sparrow too. I guess we'll see when she meets her mother.
Brienne being sent to talk to the blackfish means a potential meeting with Jamie on opposite sides of the battle, look forward to that.
Really don't know what Sam is playing at taking the family sword, unless he's going to melt it down/become a master/maester blacksmith making weapons to fight the WW- assuming his Dad lets him live that long!
