The Grand Budapest Hotel.I tried,I really did.It bored the absolute pants off me,gave up halfway in when I noticed the missus had fallen asleep.
I loved it when I wasn't expecting to. One of those marmite films.

Divergent. Avoid! Avoid!

The trailer makes it look like a normal sci-fi buy it's not. It's another teen girl film, basically a rip off of The Hunger Games but worse (didn't think that would be possible)

0/10. Turned off after 20mins.
The Hunger Games being the rip off of Battle Royale!

And not a very good rip off either!

'Bad Teacher'

Despite having Cameron Diaz in it, it was painfully unfunny and predictable.

22 Jump Street

I enjoyed 21 but this was tosh, they were so busy taking the ironic piss out of sequels and tell lame double entendres about being gay / bromances they forgot to tell a story or be funny

A couple of laughs in the whole 2 hours

2/10
Yeah. At first you go along with it, its quite funny. But then you realise that is literally all the ammunition they had and they're going to keep using it over and over for the next 2 hours. Should have been a straight to DVD.
That's interesting. I heard it was decent and reportedly even better than the original (which I found very funny). 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I presume you mean the remake rather than the original 1981 classic. If so, I agree wholeheartedly. yes

Tron Legacy

Watched a few weeks back. Story was weak, characters poor. Waste of an hour and a half tbh. Some SFX were decent but not enough to salvage the film.

4/10.

Noah - could not bear to finish it, so can't rate it. But what I've seen can be described as bad, despite some of my favourite actors and a certain respect for the director. Just why?

Primer was pretty good. Perhaps tried to be 'cleverer' than it needed to be but still a good film to watch

Believe 1/10

Matt Busby comes back to manage a kids football team, the only interesting thing about it was it was shown on sky at the same time as it's cinema release.

This is because it's so unutterably st that no one would pay to see it

Cheesy predictable crap, even if it is designed for kids

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Fantastic CGI but predicable story line. No dramatic plot twists and did not engage with any characters so could not care what happened to them.

I am on a roll this weekend and the missus is questioning not only my taste but my sanity

R.I.P.D. (just out on Sky Movies)

Cops, big guns, sci-fi and monsters, Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges - on the face of it promising

oh boy

Tries so bad to be MIB and fails miserably, copies the most of the plot of MIB 1, copies the lead characters, and the "monsters" are all like the possessed hick from MIB 1

but none of MIB's wit, imagination or charm

I may go against the grain here, but I do not like the Planet of the Apes movies so much, I find them quite depressing. It seems Hollywood relishes in the kind of movie that depicts mother nature and all other species as good, and humans irredeemably bad - so bad that we're expected to cheer as CGI effects wipe us out....

couldn't agree with you more, IMO it had all the right ingredients (though I had problems understand WTF Jeff B was trying to say), some lovely visuals, a couple of neat lines in humour and yet I'd rather go to the dentist than watch it again frown

I agree with this sentiment. These films seem to have been created by people full of self loathing for humankind. They are bleakly cynical IMO. Clumsy and heavy handed, too.

Do not interest me at all.
