Guido makes a good point:-
I have been wondering why the CPS have been silent of this matter. I suspect that Guido is spot on when he suggests that it is because Huhne is a cabinet minister.
One way, or the other, this affair stinks.

The police have been investigating this case for six months, the CPS has been avoiding taking the case to Court for three months. It is a fundamental tenet of our justice system that all are equal before the law. The CPS appear to be nervous about prosecuting this case because Huhne is a Cabinet Minister. Justice delayed is justice denied and it is time the evidence was tested in Court.

According to your link, the panel discussion finished at 8:00pm followed by dinner at 8:30pm, so she could have left after the first course, say around 9:30pm? It's just speculation.
It is speculation. However, if my wife had a dinner engagement, then I would leave the car in the long term park for a couple of days rather than put pressure on her.Don

But then you arent a cheating arrogant cock of a politician are you?
No, and I also like to think that I am not an habitual liar.Anyway, there seems to be some good news at last.

Keir Stammer the Director of Public Prosecutions told Radio Five this morning:
“We are very close to a decision. There is one remaining issue which is that we are seeking some material which is held by a national newspaper. That is the only thing we are waiting for now … I understand why people think it is taking a lot of time but the way in which we get material from journalists is an important principle, quite separate from the Chris Huhne case.”
Soon Huhnie my boy. Soon.

Bad news...
Still maybe he will spend next Christmas at Her Majesty's pleasure.
I wonder who goes on top, Huhne or the garrulous lesbian-turned-bisexual Lib-Dem aide Carina Trimingham. (Gotta love the Daily Mail).

Nice piece in yesterday's Telegraph. It was Huhne that leaked Gove's letter about a new royal yacht. Tut, tut!
Surely, a proven liar who briefs against fellow cabinet members, and leaks private correspondence is not a fit person to hold an office of state?
I wonder if Gove's letter was marked "Restricted"? If is was, then Huhne is guilty of a breach of the Official Secrets Act.
The comments make for interesting reading.

There’s nothing endearing about Huhne. He has the cold, dead eyes of a political snake, hissing poison as he slithers down the corridors of power. He calls to mind a Machiavellian operator – except that his bungling would have the author of The Prince throwing his hands up in despair.

It has gone on too long. Political pressure increases with time. The best way to get someone influenctial in the dock is to go in quickly and decisively.
I'm not having a go at CPS, I have a lot of respect for the individuals I've worked with, but they are as vulnerable as the police. I would be impressed if, given how long they've had to consider the evidence, there is a positive outcome.
Look at the circumstances. The evidence was clear from the start. It is a simple enough case. There is a case to answer but the file was returned to the police for further enquiries three(?) times. That's not good.
I've been very suspicious since last June-July. He does seem to be receiving preferential treatment. I cannot understand why!
He has been caught backstabbing on many occasions ("Calamaty Clegg", Theresa May, etc). Why on Earth would anyone want to protect him?

What came out of The Times is critical. The CPS put up a big argument for it and then suddenly it was available. That fills me with confidence, especially as the Murdoch papers have been under threat from various quarters despite them supporting Cameron's failed attempt to get the tories elected.
The question that one must ask is that if this was a plumber and his housewife missus, would the case still be undecided? Answers on Twitter.
It seems clear to me that if this was a plumber, then the case would have come to court months ago. However, I have little knowledge in this area. I am distressed to see that a retired Officer is also suspicious. The question that one must ask is that if this was a plumber and his housewife missus, would the case still be undecided? So... has pressure been brought to bear on Keir Starmer? If so, why would anyone do this?
If the CPS do not press charges, then I suspect that there will be a leak in the next couple of months. The leak could either come from inside the Sunday Times, or from Essex Police. Surely Keir Starmer knows that this is a real possibility. His career would be finished if it turned out that he had taken part in a cover up.
I am mystified.

It looks like a BiB has also said that Huhne has been charged.

If he had left her for an attractive thirty-something beauty, then one could understand his actions. He didn't.
Vicky must have been deeply insulted, so good on her!
