I just got my new (and first) glasses. smile

Not something you'd necessarily think of as good news, what with being a sign of getting old and decrepit, but I went through that bit when I was told I needed them.

Driving back from picking them up from the factory shop in Croydon was just staggering, though! I'd not really noticed my eyesight starting to go, as it happens so gradually, but now, when I take them off, it feels like I've smeared a light coating of Vaseline over my eyeballs at the same time! hehe

Being able to see perfectly again - and what feels like far, far better than I can ever remember seeing in the past - is very much "good news"! cloud9

I reckon everyone who drives should have an eyetest every two years if aged over 40. Failing eyesight creeps up on one (as you have noticed) and I know a few people whose eyesight is far from adequate for driving.

Something happened last year that hasn’t happened in past decade – beer sales in the UK actually rose.

This is extremely encouraging news and it is surely more than coincidence that it has happened in the wake of the scrapping of the beer duty escalator and two consecutive reductions in duty – the first time that this has happened since the 1950s. It has also coincided with an explosion in the number of breweries in the UK, with the number being at its highest – over 1200 – since before the Second World War.

woohoo

A rich relative I didn't know existed has died intestate in Japan and some nice geezer in a bank over there wants to send me my inheritance of 'eighteen million thousand' USD plus interest. Apparently there's only one other person, apart from the deceased, with the same name in the entire scamiverse. Me!

laugh

Word for word but with new names for the banks and staff this time

Back to busking music

Excellent, now I have a bidding war between RW and Mr S Chung. It's around five years since my last unexpected multi-million dollar inheritance so the timing is perfect.

Good news - particularly to those Labour supporters who in the run-up to the election were crowing worried about the expected temporary slowdown in Q1, with the good of the country at heart naturally. Relax comrades, the Conservatives are in charge of the economy and the country smile

Its a good news day for me, my grandmother is all clear after a cancer scare. 85 years young and just bullies her way through her advancing years.

Work wise not one property in my portfolio is empty, so I can take down the vacancies sign now, been a long hard slog refurbing the lot for the last few years, two holidays booked too relax a bit.

Finally mrs walsh pisses off to Disney land for a week for a hen do so I can lounge about in my pants for a week eating crap and not doing the dishwasher. I've got a load of disposable plates and cutlery ready for the slob fest. I'm also going to surprise her with a new TV and soundbar too, she will LOVE that!
