Some disturbing news coming to light today...

Abusing patients in their beds, abusing dead bodies, the depravity of this disgusting individual knows no depths it seems

Rumours of such activities were circulating in 2006! It doesn't mean there is a link of course, but even so....
long before that, I heard that sort of tale in the early 90s

Odd isn't it? I was at school in the 1970s and even back then I remember "everyone" "knowing" he was dodgy. Quite how he continued through the 80s, 90s and 00s with such public affection, little challenge from the media and access to so many vulnerable adults and children really is remarkable.

Let's hope his like is never seen again.

I remember Irvine Welsh being on Nicky Campbell's radio 1 show at the time and Campbell saying, sarcastically "where DO you get your ideas?" then recently he was another one saying "nobody knew"
It is strange that no one from the BBC has come out and said ' I knew, and I'm sorry I didnt say anything' it almost as if they are pretending they weren't there

Do you not get the horrible feeling that some of his like are still alive and on the go? frown

Well, naturally I believe there are others like him around and about. Human nature being as it is I'd be stunned if there weren't. Perhaps naively I'd like to think they'd be both less successful and more likely to be caught/stopped these days.

That said, some of the attitudes I've seen within others of these sorts of celebrity/sex cases threads leads me to believe victims today would still have uphill struggles having their voices heard and acted upon. I'm confident it is better now than it ever was, mind.

Didn't Esther Rantzen allude to knowledge within the BBC hierarchy of JS's habits when the whole thing blew up?

The people who wrote into "Jim'll Fix It", submitting mis-spelled fix-it requests must think themselves very lucky to have avoided this sick, depraved pervert-unless he wrote to them.

John Lydon was recorded in an interview saying it was a well-known rumour in media circles that Savilebeast was a top nonce, but they weren't allowed to talk about it and such a comment would probably be redacted from the interview (as the BBC were probably frightened both at being exposed for their part in this sordid mess, but also for allowing Lydon to libel Savilebeast), and sure enough the allegations about Savilebeast were removed. The uncut interview was stuck onto a Public Image LTD cd following the death of Jimmy.

It was common knowledge he had his own mother corpse with him, alone, in his Brighton flat for a fortnight, he even talked about it openly in the Louis Theroux thing I seem to recall.
This reminds me of a rumour from years ago (70's I think) that he had an 'inappropriate' ahem, relationship with his mother from an early age, wouldn't surprise me, this sick fk had no moral compass whatsoever.

The most shocking revelation in all this is that he was allowed to build a house for himself INSIDE the grounds of a maximum security hospital and was asked by the secretary of state for health to run the board of said hospital based on his "experience" i.e working on Radio Caroline and introducing Shawadywaddy on the R1 roadshow...

Quite remarkable.
Indeed - and to work as a voluntary hospital porter on the basis that he was a celebrity and was no stranger to charity ! It really is quite incredible that everyone was taken in by him and those who had experienced his depravity were dismissed as unreliable.

That would not surprise me. I expect quite a few people are relieved he died before he could spill the beans.

I have a major problem with Saville, very much in the mould of the person you were warned about as a child.
As and when Saville finally shuffles off.
Then after the inevitable tabloid fuelled 'a nation mourns' frenzy, with plenty of Anne Robinson-eques eulogies, and a 5 page thread on here of what a top bloke he was. Are we likely to get stories about the 'real' Jimmy Saville
