Derek is a little put of date. Misconduct in Public Office would be the modern description of the common law offence (Malfeasance/Misfeasance/Nonfeasance are no longer used in criminal law). Maximum penalty is Life.

Contrary to Derek suggesting it is often charged, CPS guidance suggests quite the opposite. Things nay gave changed significance since Derek's day.

Wow.

So, why aren't certain people at the BBC not brought to task?

I also here a 71 year old was arrested today in relation to the Yewtree investigation?

Think its been on some news bulletins, heard it on the radio earlier. Not sure they are making too big an issue of it possibly so as not to prejudice or maybe as he is already inside ?

Going back to the Saville programme tonight. I would think its a repeat but I haven't seen it before and may be confusing it with the ITV thing from a few years ago. Whatever its transmission history its really quite extraordinary. You would be hard pushed to make parts of it up. I just don't get how someone so obviously "odd" was so entrenched into society.
