Perhaps he could be saved by the metal egg that insect like aliens gave to John Lennon that he later passed to Uri Geller?

I was listening to a web radio piece earlier about historic sexual abuse against kids in care in Nottingham, Beechwood House and Melanie Shaw.

They mentioned that Savile was involved with something called the Kingfisher Project that involved him taking under privileged kids from Nottingham on trips to Wales.

One of the contributors said they came face to face with Alison Saunders the DPP woman as their paths crossed when they were at the entrance to premises in London. The show also said that the husband of Alison Saunders works at the same Chambers as David Cameron's brother. Perhaps it is as Dame Fiona Woolf said, in that once you're part of the establishment it's improssible not to have links to others?

Sounds like a good opportunity to build some new ones!
Spokesman from the NSPCC on Today around 7.10, not Peter Wanless, 'It's a Public Health issue'.

It seemed to be all about helping victims and stopping them committing suicide etc. with Humphreys asking what about treatment for offenders.

Medicalising paedophilia takes the load off of the police, the courts and the prisons doesn't it.

I have no idea how the BBC escaped so lightly from the whole shameful Savile episode. It needs to be closed down.

Paedophilia goes right to the top, at the BBC and beyond. Clearly these people are above the law.

I don't normally post to this thread, but this headline conjured up an image of many posters to this thread getting very erm, excited.

I received same via Twitter this morning.

What I cannot get my head around is that it is as if we are being drip fed details on people that are now dead.

It is as if someone's playing for time on those that are not, dead that is.

Paedophilia has always been a medical term (in psychology at least). The term has no real meaning in law and is not mentioned nor defined in any UK legislation.

Nobody has ever been prosecuted for being a 'paedophile'.

I'm going to Leeds next weekend and staying in that big hotel where they laid out Savilles body "in state".

Bit creepy.

it is a clinicla term and many of the so call ( by the media) Paedophiles aren;t ... they are generally hebephiles ( interested in pubescent adolescents)/ ephebephiles ( interested in older adolescents into 'young adults) from a clinical point of view . ephebephila as pathology is to a degree a societal construction especially when the definition of 15 -19 is used ...

Saville's golden pass from the Thatcher government to wander into whatever institution he fancied and bugger kids is now fairly clear. He had dirt on Heath and would spill it if they didn't play ball. Wonderful world eh?
