Pointless exercise that serves only to put an obscure documentary maker back in the public eye.
Apart from, you know, his movie about Scientology which is out in cinemas this week. I knew nothing of this, but I do believe I have better things to do than dart about chasing such guff, but thanks for pulling me up and making me think about the ways of the world. Having pondered for a moment, I won't be wasting my time darting about and chasing such guff.

Oh, wow, Mr Rollyeyes, is that supposed to impress me?

Yet crafting the above somehow passed the judicious use of time test. I watched all his shows religiously never realised anything. Maybe I was a young kid so too naive to know.
Did he seem odd? Well so many celebs at the time were quirky.
You have to wonder is he the sole individual who did this? Are there others who have so far got away width it
Being you, you may have missed the news over the last few years.Did he seem odd? Well so many celebs at the time were quirky.

Kids have been getting fked for years, but now people are getting a bit angry about it.

Might not be good for the BBC and Theroux. Seems social media is in uproar over him sitting on the evidence rather than releasing it.
Watching the programme now and it's interesting viewing to say the least. Amazing how he managed to cover up his antics from those close to him assuming they're telling the truth that is. Theroux's shtick was to come across as a slightly dim, gullible documentary maker, in the hope that his subjects showed sides of their lives he could make fun of.
He did it with The Hamiltons, Paul Daniels and some other's I have forgotten.
That was it.
If he found out stuff about Savile that was way over the top, he probably stayed quiet like all the rest stayed quiet; because it didn't suit him to be a whistle-blower.
For him to pretend anything else now is not plausible IMHO.

It was an interesting program - OK, so clearly he was weird...very very weird. No one can deny that.
But we sat there wondering how on earth did he get away with it, and nobody ever actually saw anything. I dunno, it's all very odd. The people he abused were rather odd as well, so he clearly very carefully hand picked them knowing they'd never be taken seriously.
I mean the painter woman was who alleged he jumped through the window was almost as weird as he was!

After watching the programme, it doesn't seem like Louis learned anything that could have revealed the crimes. Unlike the journalist from in the doc, don't see how Louis, the Beeb or the NHS (or any other organisation) can be held accountable from anything shown in this doc.
This.Savile was a creepy screwball, but I think people were blinded by his "charitable" work and overlooked the other stuff.
As the programme noted, Stoke Mandeville was just a few ramshackle huts years ago, now it is a top grade facility.

Nice to see the Corporation try to shift blame to the Daily Mail journalist.
Indeed. Out of all the people in the world they could have talked to about why they didn't go to the police (Dame Esther, loads of people on this thread, Lemmy from Motorhead, John Lydon, half of the posters on Popbh, even my brother.) they decided to concentrate on a friend of Louis' mum who just happened to work for a paper hated throughout the BBC.I thought it was a pretty poor programme to be honest. Just an attempt by Louis to justify why he didn't spot Saviles issues and show his regret to some of the people who Jimmy had abused. Mind you, the ex-PA was clearly in a serious state of denial but as someone else on the show said, its difficult to erase all those memories from your history that you had invested so much in.
What it did show once again was what a truly horrible and incredibly devious man he really was.
I watched it and thought it was ok, nothing earth shattering, but perhaps a reminder of how Savile managed to dupe so many people.
I personally think Louis is very good at what he does, playing a bit dumb to get people to spill the beans. The documentary he did on the Phelps family (Westbro Baptist Church) was excellent.

Being abused in any manner, but especially that manner, is not terribly conducive to a solid mental state thereafter. I mean the painter woman was who alleged he jumped through the window was almost as weird as he was!
