Prosecutors have received a full file of evidence regarding the singer Sir Cliff Richard and alleged sexual assault, the BBC has learned.
The Crown Prosecution Service said it will now make a decision as to whether to bring charges or not.
Sir Cliff has been interviewed in the past by South Yorkshire Police investigating a claim of a sex crime involving a young boy in the 1980s.
His spokesman has always said the allegations were "completely false".
A CPS spokesman said: "We will now carefully consider its contents in line with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, in order to establish whether there is sufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction, and whether it is in the public interest to do so."

Louis has made some great programs over the years, and asks questions many people wouldn't. He's done this by gaining the trust of some very oddball people such as Saville. mybrainhurts said:

If you truly believe that, then may I respectfully suggest that you watch some of his other stuff? His recent documentary on mental health and insanity in crimes was top notch. He is empathetic and has a great way of gaining the trust of his interview subjects.Obscure documentary makers don't generally win BAFTA's or Emmys
Edit - hope I don't need a parrot?
I think it is a very valid documentary and I will watch it. Theroux famously interviewed Savile a few years before the latter died and revealed some insights into Savile's personality that many would probably not have been aware of up until then.
Now, a number of years after Savile's true nature was finally exposed, it is perhaps appropriate that Theroux revisits this territory.

I agree with Eric. Think it will be interesting (and possibly appalling in equal measure). Now, a number of years after Savile's true nature was finally exposed, it is perhaps appropriate that Theroux revisits this territory.

Exactly what I thought.
How is he obscure? He's made multiple prime time documentaries and won many awards. The issue is more, "why aren't there more quality documentaries?"
