If you don't get the anti-business thing you must be living on a different planet, the high energy costs due to renewables are causing lots of industries to close down, last night on the north east news they had pictures of the alcan aluminum plant being flaterned, big chimneys coming down, apparently it was the most efficient plant in Europe when it was running, but hey we are doing our bit, the aluminum is now produced in china where they have plenty of cheap coal fired power stations,
saving the planet don't make me laugh, same applies to steel, Redcar steel furnaces closed down, import steel from China where environmental issues are swept under the carpet and they are building a coal fired power station every week, its all a con we are consuming more than ever, just not producing it in a controlled environment and you think this is the way forward?
Why are you linking China's steel dumping with climate change and jobs? Separate issues.saving the planet don't make me laugh, same applies to steel, Redcar steel furnaces closed down, import steel from China where environmental issues are swept under the carpet and they are building a coal fired power station every week, its all a con we are consuming more than ever, just not producing it in a controlled environment and you think this is the way forward?
They are being shut because of bad decisions by the govt to allow steel dumping from China, something the EU tried to stop but the UK put a foot in it. T The UK has the highest cost for energy inEurope I believe, thats probably because it's all run by business people who want to maximise dividend payment to share holders, basically they are eating your business, not those who start up a alternative energy business.
The first place I put the blame of the steel industry in this country is our current govt, Sajid Javed is pretty fking useless as is George Osborne, again this is a separate issue to climate change, and if we are to link them then why did we close off plans to develop a power station using household waste? Other countries do it to supply cheap or free energy? No, in this country we are being run by people who have no vision outside the private educated robot minds.
I still don't understand you, Tesla is an example, why is their business in your eyes considered different anti -capitalist? Or many other start ups that are trying not to use fossil fuel. They will create cheaper energy and thus jobs, how is that anti-capatilist? It's an old fashioned and nonsense viewpoint.

But that still doesn't mean climate change is left wing bias, climate change is affecting people from all walks of society and nearly everyone in the worlds. What you've given is a link to an article by a right wing mag, that frankly is pretty alarmist and not very good.
No it isn't. Weather might be affecting people (as it always has done) but an extra 0.6 degrees in 100 years isn't.The nearest effect of visible and physical effect of pollution is Oxford Street London, pretty terrible their at times, but hey, leave as it is why don't you, do nothing why don't you. Anyway its of people don't pay attention to you as they are doing something, whether that means longer battery life on your phone or laptop , solar charging or anything that relies on less fossil fuels, there are people developing it.

0.6 degrees is quite a lot, we now have a record amount CO2 in our atmosphere, ice is meting at an alarming rate, but if you don't study it if you carry on polluting the atmosphere and if you don't change then things we will (and are) suffer.

There is quite a lot that is factually incorrect in your post. There is also quite a lot that is based on some fairly sweeping suppositions. I do agree that mankind should avoid polluting the environment as far as humanly possible, and I also believe that man needs to take far greater care of the finite resources this planet has to offer us, and I even believe that the climate is changing over time, but I do not agree, nor do I see, nor have I been shown any data that provides a direct, verifiable link between Human activity and the change in global temperatures. Do you have such evidence?
Anyway, this is turning into a thread derailment, - perhaps better to take this to the climate change thread?

You should have seen (well you couldn't - visibility was less than 10 feet) Oxford street in the 50s during one of the London Fogs... That is real pollution. Rather than get into another climate change thread - all I'll say is 0.6 degrees in 100 years is not a lot of change - we experience far greater diurnal temperature swings without significant difficulty. The nearest effect of visible and physical effect of pollution is Oxford Street London, pretty terrible their at times, but hey, leave as it is why don't you, do nothing why don't you. Please, take your argument on climate change to the climate change thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
The BBC has really shot itself in the foot, by allowing its staff to so publicly and obviously support one side of the Brexit situation and by taking such a position as an institution it has damaged it basis for existence.
It will loose the protection of the people, this is its only protection and its only reason for existence.

I've just sent a Tweet to BBC Newsnight to say :
"Could someone instruct Gavin Davis that the entire point of doing an interview is to let the interviewee finish a sentence"
Amazed that Crispin Blunt didn't unsnap his mike, get up and walk out saying "fk this"
Also loving the way it sticks in their craw to have to announce the markets are higher than before Thursday

could you send another reminding them they are supposed to be reporters of news, not a fking elitist liberal advocacy service. i really am sick to the back teeth of what is now an echo chamber. every single one of them appears to have gone through the same brainwashing, sorry education and be of the same political persuasion . i wonder how many leave voters there were in the entire organisation ?"Could someone instruct Gavin Davis that the entire point of doing an interview is to let the interviewee finish a sentence"

as a national broadcaster i would expect their employees to be a fair representation of the nation as whole in terms of diversity of political outlook. not a chance in reality. i believe their reporting on the referendum situation is now having a negative effect on the country as a whole and someone needs to have a quiet word.
