Alan who?

He's won awards for acting apparently, that's great and goes some way to appreciating his comments. He's acting as though his view is more worthy than that of Doris at number 32.

Talking of comments...this is a pertinent example.

I was thinking about this thread today.

Largely it consists of right-wing PHers (judging from their other posts) saying the BBC is biased, and left-wing PHers (judging from their other posts) saying it isn't.

Doesn't this demonstrate that it is?

If it was unbiased, right- and left-wing posters would agree that it was biased, but disagree about the direction.

Oh wait! He caused it!

Wow! Is that real? When does a bit of laughable BBC spin become propaganda?

He reads words written down by other people in front of a camera.

Of course we should listen to him.

I bought a new DAB hi-fi system for my garage/gym last week, and yesterday, when training, I thought I'd re-visit 6 Music. What a mistake that was! Tuned in only to hear a tirade against Donald Trump and how we should open the doors even wider to more immigration from some old Pink Floyd bloke.

Decided that my USB mix track stick would be a much better alternative.

I heard the Past Floyd spouting similar ballcocks myself. Anyway, back to me earlier post, this is Occupy London's beef with the BBC:

Anybody who rants about Trump is alright by me....Odd ,isn't it , that David Gilmour (I assume ) has left wing views , being in the arts and all that ? Would you have preferred a paean of praise to The Donald and a EDL type rant against migrants ?

I think that your post tells us a lot more about you than me. (EDL, Migrants, just WTF!)

Personally, I just expected some 'blokey banter' interspersed with mainly good music, and that's it - not some political rant, no matter what the ideology.

I hope that simple explanation helps sate your pretend outrage, you berk.

I did ask this earlier in the thread. All these people are supposedly "free thinking"; why, then, do they all seem to espouse exactly the same views (I'm talking specifically about the Question Time '5th seat' types)?

The BBC are 'owned' they just don't all know it. The idea of independence has long since been hijacked, sadly, although I do actually wonder, given the post-war environment, when the BBC was first established, whether it were anything other than a continuation of the huge, wartime propaganda machine.

Oh God, that was painful. They managed to find one luvvie who had voted leave, and she was a cardboard cutout Angry Black Woman.

The whole theme was so virulently anti-Tory it was just comical. Various comments about Thatcher as expected, 1997 described as a "new era of optimism" etc., it just went on and on.
