They are not children - the Bbc are talking about children as if we have saved some poor little kids not adults.

So, let me get this right your problem is that the BBC reported the story? I am assuming that the DG didn't go over himself and pick the people to be invited over . Would you have been more happy if it had not been reported at all ? Maybe then you could have bleated about a cover up ...

Some might say it's a teensy weeny bit ironic that in moaning about the Beeb's bias you quote that pinnacle of journalistic integrity the Mail ....

Been in the car for most of today and across bbc radio 1, 2 and bbc Surrey I have repeatedly heard about how these children migrants are now being allowed in to the UK.

Children - I'm thinking 5 to 15 years? Of course not just a load of bbc propaganda looking at these
Photos of the children lol they grow up fast these days:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3843900/Fi...
If these photos are real then What the hell is going on its as clear as day these grown men are not children ...
My wife is a paediatrician and has been asked to examine some of the "children". Many are young men who have destroyed their papers.

For medical purposes or to ascertain how old they are? How come we all know this but politicians/immigration officials cant see whats staring them in the face?

There is no medical procedure to determine a persons age. Unfortunately we aren't like trees. Can't imagine the politicians want to be seen as the one who cries foul without any way to prove their case.

Exactly what the BBC made it sound like we were getting.

What we got Sorry the child refugee we got

Nobody would call that man a child yet the BBC did. The BBC saw these men and still called them children. ( the rest of the news outlets probably did too I don't know)

Not one editor or reporter went hold on a minute these arnt children

Just clicked on the BBC news homepage to see how they are reporting it now. Story is nowhere to be seen. Headline story UKIP man quits.

Oh and you should have heard the play in radio 4 today holy st.

That sums it up, all day in the car I heard from the BBC about these children being rescued.
This is another image of what really landed

Of course not - they're children so are all under 18.

And as the BBC state, "The most vulnerable unaccompanied children are girls, those under the age of 13, and orphans." which explains why so many in the photos in the article are of young girls. Obviously....

The BBC love to bend a story.

I remember listening to a live broadcast with some of the Calais migrants. The interviewer was going on about the terrible things the migrants were fleeing from, she then asked a couple of migrants to tell their own stories. The first one gave a genuine story, but the second one said something like "I'm a graduate and in my country its difficult to get a good job!"

The interviewer just mumbled something about it being quite hard in the UK as well....lol!

It is interesting that the story has completely disappeared today.
I've no doubt that the DM phtographers found the worst cases they possibly could, because that's what they do. It's also very suspicious that the beeb hasn't shown any sort of counter view, ie pictures of actual children. All over the news yesterday, and today, nothing.

I think most people have no issue with help & aid given readily to genuine refugees & those affected by conflict etc.

What causes the less than benevolent attitudes is the drip drip drip of emerging facts that paint a different picture - gangs attacking vehicles & people & the whole raft of unpleasant activities that accompany those with a less than accommodating attitude to civilised society.

Compound that with the way the left bend the truth to suit their political aims & the BBC, instead of calling a spade a spade, pick & choose what to put in their reporting which ultimately results in the original, honourable goal of helping the real poor unfortunates buried under the spin.

If they displayed a bit more honesty & integrity, they'd have a lot more of the public on board.

I would imagine, but don't know, that there are editorial guidelines about printing pictures of children without their consent.

How does that work then, they're all supposedly children!

From the DM Editor's Code:

"Children under 16 must not be interviewed or photographed on issues involving their own or another child’s welfare unless a custodial parent or similarly responsible adult consents."

So presumably if there were any children clearly under 16, the DM would not print photos of them?

They can pixelate the faces for example....so YES they can publish a non identifying photo

Apologies in advance for quoting the Daily-Wail again, but here goes

1. Aid workers admit adults are pretending to be kids in Calais Jungle - (thanks for confirming that you'd never guess)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3847114/Ad...

2. The Home office then states "They look older because war has toughened them up"! You just couldn't make this up:
