Just heard Vine giving Grayling a hard time over the miners strike, asking questions of no relevance then refusing to let him answer anyway.

Then he turns to the union spokesman and posed a few innocuous question that the spokesman was clearly prepared for. He was also allowed to speak uninterrupted.

Giving idiots the opportunity to promote their agenda just exposes the weakness of their argument to a wider audience, I would have thought. What has Grayling got to do with the Miners Strike anyway?

Perfect example on the 6 oclock news regarding the announcement of Novembers inflation figures

BBC narrative
  • Huge unrelenting out of control increase in inflation
  • the above Causing misery to millions within the UK
  • Caused by the stupid great unwashed voting Brexit
  • Interview with angry shopper claiming escalating costs causing massive hardship
  • Interview with angry motorist claiming fuel cost increases are driving motorist off the road
  • Interview with Frances O'Grady (TUC chairwoman) claiming the government needs to change course
and the final coup de gras with a cut to T May on Downing street steps entering No10
"May needs to watch increasing inflation and reducing wages causing a perfect storm"

Actual narrative
  • Inflation figures just released for November remain under the government 2% target by such a gap that the BoE governor will need to continue to explain this gap to parliament however it has increased by 0.3% from 0.9% to 1.2% therefore lessening the risk of deflation
  • This increase will ease business, the financial sector and borrowers worries
  • The drop in the pound related to the Brexit has caused some imported materials to increase in cost but this has had a marginal effect in these figures
  • Food & general shopping increases have increased from the equivalent of £100 to £101.2 over the year a barely noticeable amount tp the average citizen,
  • Fuel costs have increased due to global oil cost increases with diesel an average of £1.18 but remain well down on 2012?? costs of £1.45
  • Average workers will have a more prosperous Xmas with average wage growth of 2,9% outstripping yearly increase in outgoings
  • Those on the minimum wage having seen a 7.5% increase due to the tory government introduction of the NMW and pensioners with the tory government triple lock will welcome this small increase in inflation further increasing their spending power
  • The government will have to consider what effect the continued pressures of wage growth will have on the inflation figure whilst continuing to remain the best performing economy within the EU & global economy

BBC News interview - Trevor Noah and Zeinab Badawi

Trevor Noah - News should be fact driven - yes

Zeinab Badawi - Comment is free - fact is sacred

On the basis of that the BBC should be "Free" cos it ain't fact

So it's not just me then. She's actually Canadian I believe. Lyse Doucet. When she says Syria it sounds like a cat sliding down a slate blackboard with its claws out. Makes my teeth itch. Like most people, I wish the war in Syria would end, but in my case it's so I don't have to hear her say Syria one more time. I just hope war doesn't then break out in Mozambique.

Well hold the front page - Woman's Hour has gone and done it now...their 'Woman' of the last 70 years (adjudged to have had the most beneficial effect on UK womanhood) is...

Mrs. T !!!!!

My flabber is gasted! True, it was through slightly gritted teeth, and Bridget Jones even made it onto the final shortlist, but they have finally come round to a pleasant dose of reality.

Naturally when Jenny Murray read out the first listener feedback (email) it was " No, no, no, etc etc". They just cannot help themselves.

And yet last week when they were reviewing their 'women of influence' 2016 they agreed that Kaitlin Jenner had to be censured for backing Trump - no other explanation necessary.

The other day, I was listening to a bit of 6Music, I had it on earlier (usually only listen to Radcliffe and Maconi). I think it was Loren Laverne, and she was lamenting 2016, saying she just wants it to end because 'It's just been a crappy year for all of us'. Really, all of us, or just the cosseted snowflakes who got a rude wake-up call?

No chance at all that she was referring to things like the death of David Bowie, what with her presenting a music program?...

No, the conversation was specifically political, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it.

Well, maybe next time you should mention the context. We're not all privy to your inner monologue.
