The BBC is not perfect - by a long way - and yes sometimes they do show some bias. However, give me the BBC over Murdoch's empire any day.
That's fine, but I see no reason why you shouldn't be paying a subscription to Sky regardless.

Great. And what news output do you watch instead if the BBC has been done away with?
Exactly. It'll be crap or more crap.

BBC = fake news

Banned by the USA government hehehe.

On a serious note though, it must be hugely embarrassing for the BBC to be titled as 'fake news', its "high international standing" that it places itself on must be crumbling.
Its credibility must be in serious question.

But, if they were impartial and had no political agenda, then this would not have happened. wink

Would this be seen by the Beeb as a wake-up call? A definitive signal that they are breaching impartiality and that they are pushing a political agenda?

I have a feeling though it will be 'business as usual' - unfortunately.

The Trump regime brands anything it disagrees with as fake news. I'd call it a glowing endorsement to be so branded.

Badge of honour I suppose? Years down the line the BBC will still be there.

Shami Chakrabarti didn't seem that happy with the BBC. Doesn't she get riled easily.

I like to play the Radio 4 Challenge

It involves listening to Radio 4 for any 1 hour period and NOT hearing any of the following references-

-LGBT rights... transgender ''issues'' being THE big current favourite

-Women's rights and gender ''inequality''

-The rise of the ''extreme right'' i.e. anyone who isn't ultra liberal, ultra inclusive and ultra politically correct

-The plight of ''refugees''

-The joys and benefits of immigration and multiculturalism, that we must all embrace because there are simply NO negatives at all.

-Brexit, without the obligatory vox pop from a thick, northern racist.

I admit I haven't actually managed to win the challenge yet, it doesn't matter what type of programme I'm listening to, be it news, current affairs, politics, factual, drama or ''comedy''... they always manage to shoehorn a reference into at least one of the above.

Exactly. Not being banned by Tump would be embarrassing.

hehe

Tuesdays between 09.00 & 10.00 is currently a good bet, the Life Scientific followed by something for 15 mins followed by Book of the Week.

We shall see.

Alternatively if you want to cheat and get an easy and guaranteed 'full house' just listen to Woman's Hour!

Mike74 failed to add 'climate change' but had he done so your suggestion would have been scuppered.

I was going to say the same, massive omission!

Add the word "identity".

That's a Radio 4 favourite - so versatile!

Who was the old maggot on Today just before the sports report?

Trump is a pathological blah blah blah.

I support Hillary.

And I've got a book out.

I wondered that too! I'd just come in earshot of the radio and thought at first that it was Anthony Worrell-Thompson's quite distinctive voice, but it soon became clear that it wasn't.

They just cant help it they just need to be negative about everything about Trump. Instead of reporting a positive Trump meets leaders of historically black colleges and universities. But no they go with a story of someone kneeling on a sofa to get a better angle for a photo and how disrespectful it was.
The bias is as obvious as it gets.
I notice one of the following pictures does make it on to the bbc website..
