As for the feet on sofa bks, the media really do need to have a word with themselves.

It's not just the BBC. They all seem to be going down the clickbait route, it's news for the mouthbreathers.

Meanwhile in Sudan, they're eating fking grass.........

Indeed - I'd say a married president getting a gobjob off an intern was perhaps rather less decorous than a president having his feet on the desk or a staff member having her feet on the sofa.

They are great at this, they will select intelligent rational articulate pops for one (their) view, and then real idiots for the other, whilst smugly and simultaneously ticking the balance box.

In the third of my "interpreting Trump" series... smile It's this sort of bks that his "Fake News" is getting at as much as outright u truths.

We've become inured to it, but he's right in trying to weed it out IMO. We should all be following that lead.

A bit OT but am I the only one who thinks that Kellyanne Conway looks like she is only two martinis away from telling us about some dark secret past, like she once had sex with the drummer from Iron Maiden backstage after a concert?

I've noticed and been wound up by this tactic before and it is one of the many and various things that means I no longer watch the BBC news and seldom bother to read political articles on their website.

They just cant help it they just need to be negative about everything about Trump. Instead of reporting a positive Trump meets leaders of historically black colleges and universities. But no they go with a story of someone kneeling on a sofa to get a better angle for a photo and how disrespectful it was.
If you take off the anti-BBC blinkers and read the actual story, the BBC don't at any point say she's being disrespectful. The entire story is about the reaction on social media to the picture.

That's rather the point though isn't it?

Which is more newsworthy:

a) Trump meets leaders of historically black colleges
b) Some anonymous people on the internet are upset that a Trump advisor put her feet up on the sofa

I think many people here feel that the choice of focus for the story shows the bias rather than the way the content of the story is presented. That feeds in to the perceived agenda, present enough stories of a negative slant and people will eventually start to agree with your view of Trump.

The BBC can claim no bias because they don't ever explicitly state a position as their own but, those who perceive bias see it in the general content selection which, is very difficult to prove.

In principle I'd agree that the views of a bunch of people on the internet are not news and should be roundly ignored by the media. HOWEVER, we are told that the reason the media was caught on the back foot by things like Brexit and Trump's victory is precisely BECAUSE they ignored the views of a bunch of people on the internet.

I really do hae t feel patronising to the US, but inevitably it seems to be so.

If a primeminister has an affair we wouldn't give a monkeys, someone puts their feet on the sofa we couldn't give a st yet someone blatantly lies and we would string them up. The US perspective just seems so goddamn childish. Sorry America, but come on really!

'More negative Brexit narrative from biased BBC'

Viewers furious at Kuenssberg documentary have blasted the “horrendously biased” BBC following the latest programme on Brexit which they claim was ‘doom laden'.

The to be fair to Laura K she did recently do a programme of the impending demise of the EU because of Britex that was as as balanced and fair as the BBC could deign to release. I fully suspect this show had a rider from the master of the dark arts on Tony Blairs appearance in it that precluded making it balanced.

She is a complete clusterfk of a woman.

Did they include the interview with Lawrence Tomlinson of Ginetta Cars?

His response to her was priceless.
