So her opinion on economics should be less valid because she lied about who was driving? Did you come up with that all by yourself?
Isn't trust quite an important quality in an expert?

They did manage to squeeze convicted criminal Vicky Pryce onto the one o'clock news though, to give us some more expert advice on economics. hehe
I prefer "convicted liar" but each to their own.
Call it what you like, she ended up in the nick through perverting the course of justice. Now I find watching her give her views on things like the economy you begin to wonder what she's been dishonest about with that...

Trust that they are good and understand what they are talking about? Absolutely. Lying about who was driving? Not so much.

I completely agree.

Oh don't worry, Price's economic judgment is absolutely appalling. One of those "wrong about everything " people, similar to David "Danny" Blanchflower.

There must be thousands of economic experts without a criminal record that the BBC could use. Why not use one of those?

Being rubbish - don't really mind
Being a convicted criminal - not really on.

"The BBC risks undermining Brexit and damaging the UK's reputation with its "pessimistic and skewed" coverage, MPs have warned.

More than 70 MPs from across the political spectrum have written to Lord Hall, the director-general of the BBC, accusing the corporation of portraying the UK as a "xenophobic" nation that regrets the vote to leave the EU."

They don't seem to be listening....
'opinion' piece being pushed today about how a "carefully selected" people who voted 'leave' would now vote 'remain'

BBC doing its public service in furthering division within the UK.

And for the much lauded "balance", where is the piece about how some people who voted 'remain' would now vote 'leave'?

Thought not.

More likely remoaners claiming to be reformed leavers, they phone up talk shows all the time, transparent and predictable.

BBC Radio 4 Today programme has 3 times the number of Remainers

Only 1 in 6 contributors to the business slot has positive comments about Brexit. Obviously one could argue that this is a reflection of the business community views, not particularly convinced of that personally, but make of it what you will. BBC argue that they're wonderful, and anyone can see that any criticism is from the biased.

Although, to be fair, they had a long slot with James Dyson (pro-Brexit) this morning. The questioning wasn't overly antagonistic either.

I did get annoyed with their anti-F1 bias this morning though - no mention of the Australian Grand Prix in the sports report.

Could've because they mentioned it from about 8am yesterday and thereafter most of the day.

Someone from my sons school was round yesterday, he is a sheep farmer and was absolutely screaming at the TV. Now we didn't catch all of it as it was on in the background, but Countryfile was pointing out how farmers were going to lose out big time on EU subsidies on their land.

Yeah the rich land owners will no longer be getting richer, but most of the farmers rent the land, and because of the subsidies land that was going for £2000 an acre a few years back is now going for £10000 an acre.

He has had to go from 17 fields of sheep down to the 4 fields he owns, because of the way the EU pumps money into 'land owners'.
The guy he rented his fields off was a fairly small land owner, with 750 hectares, so approximately 1800 acres, he gets just over £100,000 a year from the EU in subsidies for owning that land, which has pushed land values up, which in turn has pushed rent up some 300% since the recession. Then you also have to compete with the cheap meat coming in from Europe when selling it on.
You simply can't make money now as a farmer if you need to rent the land, so all the subsidies are doing is making the rich richer and pushing the little guy out.

But the BBCs take on this was "Farmers will lose out from Brexit where the only way they can survive is from EU subsidies."

He said that is why 19 in every 20 farmers he knows voted out, but it is the well known, big farmers that get all the press.

I actually deleted that post as I thought he might have got the figures wrong, but just did a quick search and they do get £60-90 in subsidies per acre.

This explains it quite well....

Once again you can see why many who own lots of land and can afford to put a voice across are shouting loudly about how nasty Brexit is.......again.

Fairly small land owner with 1800 acres.....are you on drugs. The average farmer in Cornwall owns 100 to 150 acres!
