Not just a bias for socialism and against those who make and sell things:

The are also ardent Global Warming doomsayers, so much so that their pensions are invested in that industry.

What fking drivel.
The BBC's Political Editor is well known tory stooge Nick Robinson, FFS.
You must inhabit a different planet to the rest of us. Bet you wish you lived in an Eastern Bloc country in the '60's, you'd make a perfect snitch. The BBC's Political Editor is well known tory stooge Nick Robinson, FFS.
"At university he was President of the Oxford University Conservative Association."
"Criticism
Robinson has been criticised for allegedly reporting with a pro-Tory bias, and Alastair Campbell brought up his history of conservative affiliations when confronted with a difficult question.[7] Bias was claimed particularly in the 2010 United Kingdom general election coverage; a Facebook group entitled "Nick Robinson should not be the BBC's political editor" was set up and as of August 2010 has over 2000 members.[17] In a 2005 interview with David Rowan, the UK editor of Wired News, he insisted "that his involvement [with the Conservatives] ceased 20 years ago".[7]
Nick Robinson has, in his BBC Radio 4 series "The Prime Ministers", used historian Professor Jane Ridley as an expert commentator. Professor Jane Ridley is the daughter of the late Conservative politician Nicholas Ridley."
Once a tory, always a tory.

Are other channels absolutely neutral in everything they broadcast?
That's another thread. This one is about the biased BBC
I do think the British public take special umbrage aggainst "their" BBC more than the other channels because they feel they have a proprietory interest in it - which is absolutely true and correct - because they do.
I would prefer to have a flawed publicly owned and financed ad free service than a flawed privately owned channel run by a possible power crazed meglomaniac.

The entire content of each day's programming on all the BBC channels is listed for the previous 7 days. If you want to find a programme you've missed, click on teh desired channel, click on the desired day and scroll down through the schedule fior that day for the programme you want to watch. It's dead easy.
OK, some programmes may not be available, but most, including This Week, are.
It's dead easy if you know what you're looking for. It still enjoys the obscurity of a late thursday night slot otherwise.OK, some programmes may not be available, but most, including This Week, are.

And he's wearing a red coat!I dont think anyone can deny the BBC is very biased to the left, if i was not forced to pay the TV tax then i would not really care - but the fact they use MY money to pump out there deluded lefty crap really grates me.
I stopped watching any BBC news a few years ago. I do watch 'this week' and listen to Radio 4 which does give a more balanced view.
Yesterday morning whilst staying in a Hotel i had to watch 'Breakfast' and the bias was out in Force with the male presenter really laying into Cameron decision, rather than annoy me it really made me chuckle how wound up the presenter was, really foaming at the mouth! They dont even try to hide it anymore. I think most normal hard working people can see the BBC for exactly what it is, they lost credibilty years ago.

And that is its strength. At least we have the right to complain about it and maybe get it changed.
We have no say whatsever in what happens with the commercial braodcasters.
Eric, we have an exact say in what happens with the commercial broadcasters because if we choose not to watch their shows, they will go out of business. We have no say whatsever in what happens with the commercial braodcasters.
I could choose not to watch a single program on the BBC for my entire life but I would still have to pay for it (let's not get into the semantics vs. real world meaning of the "TV" license).
Respectfully, to suggest that the BBC is not politically biased because you can watch an hour of "This Week" at 11.30pm on a Thursday night, seems to be missing the point a little.

I can live with the biasedness of ANY organisation. I can live with it better if I actually part own it and can actually influence it DIRECTLY.
How many people do you know decide NOT to watch a commercial channel because of itrs political views? They are far more likely to decide to watch or not watch a channel based on their view of the quality and type of programmes they actually like. Indeed, if I find a programme on the BBC is annoying me, I change channels or turn the programme off. It doesn't mean I want to ditch the entire channel.
I';m listening to Any Questions and the followup up phone-in on Radio 4 at the moment and I have just listed to 1 and a 1/2 hours of widely different views.
I don't think you're comparing like with like Eric.
If you get in from work and switch to the BBC news at Six or Ten O'Clock, you'd pretty much come away from it with one point of view.
That's not right for an organisation with a charter that states they must be unbiased. It's not just the balance of views expressed it's the positioning and prominence of those views i.e. 10 minutes on the news at six reaches many more people than 3 hours at 1am, even though the latter is "more" coverage.
