I'm not saying anything more I'm afraid.

But I would go so far as to say that he is untouchable. Completely untouchable.

But the only thing he prizes almost as much as money is his reputation and that isn't as untouchable. wink
Untouchable as in 'not guilty' or is protected. Does he have some serious st on someone else?

Are you seriously trying to say that it is ok for a British Prime Minister to squirel away millions of tax payers money into their own accounts?
As much as I dislike Blair, I can't see anything in that story to suggest it's tax payer's money?

I imagine that's it's more to do with not wanting to set some sort of precedent. Ie, if you were Cameron and you could be a millionaire (in the way Blair has become after being PM, I know he already is) after being PM would you want to ruin those chances by having an ex-Pm arrested and sent to prison? turkeys voting for Xmas and all that.

I see your point, but isn't Cameron a millionaire anyway?

Why would he ruin those chances?

At the end of the day there's 8 million in admin expenses here. Tell you what, I'll just invent some admin expenses for about 70% of my turnover and see how far that gets me with HMRC.

Well this could get interesting...

Yes, I mentioned that but hasn't Blair made something like £20million or more since leaving office in 2007? What I'm saying is Cameron is probably just as much waiting on that cash cow so why would he rock that boat? Anyone else would probably be getting investigated up the wazoo now but as he's an ex-Pm they'll just conveniently ignore it.

yes
I take it that the above means that, for example, the impending trial of one Harrington Redknapp Esq will result in a universal desire for a not guilty verdict amongst the denziens of this little isle?

I for one won't shed a tear if Dodgy Harry finds that this time his counting skills around the 5-6 region are a little shaky.

As for tuberculosis, never going to happen, even though he should be banged to rights by now. However, we can only hope that what is deserved beats the Reaper by more than a head.

Any other person successful and wealthy through legitimate means, involving skill/hard work/own risk, why not?

Those are Mandelson sized figures. No TB has made a little bit more than that.

True, he has made crazy money. Wasn't he charging 6 figures for some speeches at one time?

What will be more interesting is how PWC ran the accounts. The figures are clearly going to be legal.

And re the 70%, don't forget that this is just one of many companies owned directly and indirectly by TB. As well as partnerships.

I'm fairly sure TB's acquisition of wealth has been through legitimate means requiring skill and hard work.
