Those genius's at London Metropolitan University, have managed to offer places to 1500 students above their budgeted maximum. How can this instution be trusted to educate the next generation, when they seem incapable of understanding basic housekeeping mathematics.

Fire £5.9million worth of staff. I doubt the students will notice. I know i wouldnt have noticed given the 'calibre' of lecturers at my uni.

Only a net cost of 700k as they get fees.

I bet they get back more than that over the 3 years from other things though.

Hands up who lives in London, yet had no idea that 'London Metropolitan University' actually existed?

I went to London Met and some of the teaching staff are very good. The rest of the uni is an utter hell hole. They did build a very impressive science centre when I was there. The drop out rate is huge I think we started with around 150 guys and by the end of the third year there was maybe 30 left. There main target is international students.

Sounds the same as the schools & colleges I went too. Most of the time you could learn more if there wasn't a moron at the front gibbering bks at you.

because you have to make offers to students before you know their a level results, which you have to honour if they accept. if more students accept your offer than you expected based on experience (don't forget there are big changes this year) or if more students get the grades you stipulated than you expected, then you can be oversubscribed.
