Abuse of Gov e-petitions
Discussion
I was having a glance through some of the Government e-petitions and there are some shocking petitions raised, surely there should be some sort of IQ test prior to posting these?
I present several idiots of the highest degree...
through the book at them
knighthood for lee
more nice things
more male full frontal nudity on TV
cwisface on twiitter
keep Danny Adams off televisionn
remove radar from modern warfare 3
ban Slade's Merry Christmas
Nando's for Rushden
I had to stop reading any further as my piss was approaching boiling point. We are given the ability to have our voices heard on matters concerning our country and these retards make a mockery of it.

We the undersigned have decided that this can no longer go on, everything is broke, fix it all. Make it better like I don't know Norway or some st like that. Everyone who lives there seems to like it.

People will sign anything as it makes them feel like they have a say.

If making things better isn't the responsibility of the government, WTF is?!
E-Gov petitions are an abuse in their own right.
They "Allow" us to petition them so they can be seen to do "something" and when enough people sign it to warrant a response they tell us it's "not in our interest" (or other such bile) - I'm surprised so many people are taken in by the fallacy of democracy in this country never mind the puerile rubbish like Government petitions.

What?!! You don't think we live in a democracy? What do we live in then, and what would need to happen for it to become a democracy in your eyes?
When you vote in the UK (for a main stream party) you vote for Europe, Europe with a blue tie, red tie, yellow etc, but it is a vote for Europe.
We are more and more under the control of Brussels and if people keep voting for the ties the more under the control of this unelected fascist state we will become.
We just about have democracy in this country but at every election we lose more of it.
If you think colour of tie is democracy then you are deluded.

Are you really that confused that the GDR wasn't democratic?!!

We get a vote, ergo it is a democracy. If we had a vote and it was decided that all people called Brian with one arm who were born on the 70s and owned a Fiat X/19 should be thrown into an incinerator, that's still a democracy. We are more and more under the control of Brussels and if people keep voting for the ties the more under the control of this unelected fascist state we will become.

I think the issue is your simplistic definition of democracy. It's not as simple in the real world. I don't like the EU intrusion myself, but we are still a very, very long way off not having democracy. We do get a vote. We do get a say. If you go to many counties, they would give their right arm for the process that we have. Who's democratic system would you rather have? If you think colour of tie is democracy then you are deluded.
