And the word on the street is that they will be recruiting more Immigration and Assistant officers, about 12 months after getting rid some of the most experienced ones.

I have had a quick review of the report.

Quite critical of Ministers and Senior Managers. Poor communication with no clear system in place to see what the hell is happening at any one time and get a consistent message across to all staff on what checks are needed at any given time.

All it comes down to is passenger volumes and whether there are enough staff to deal with huge surges i ndemand so it wouldn't surprise me if there is a big shake up inhow they deploy staff or if they take on laods more.

At my work we have a 'Quality System' its a huge document that basically lists how everything works in our organisation, who makes the decisions and how certain jobs have to be done. Everyone hates it but it comes in handy now and again. It sounds like the Border Force are clearly lacking something like this.

Perhaps splitting them up might make them more manageable.

Indirectly, I work for the home office. The amount of bureaucracy that I deal with on a daily basis would totally blow your mind.

Not as much as the complete lack of management skills in the management would!

A lot of fuss about the 'relaxed border controls'.

But apparently no one bothered about the completely uncontrolled border with the Republic Of Ireland where tax exiles, Eastern Europeans and possibly terrorists can come and go as they please with no passport necessary!!

Beyond me.
