depends on what the stats are actually referring to.
I agree lets all just blame the stats, something easy to agree on.

The Sun said:
A STUDENT who had sex with a 13-year-old girl claimed he didn’t know it was illegal because of his strict Muslim upbringing, a court heard yesterday

Adil Rashid, 18, met the girl on Facebook and groomed her for two months before booking a hotel where they had sex.

But when cops arrested him, he claimed he did not know about the age of consent because of his Muslim education in a madrassa school.

He also said he had been taught a woman was “no more worthy than a lollipop dropped on the ground”.

...

Rashid was sentenced to nine months in youth custody, suspended for two years

Ignorance of the law is actually a defense. Who knew?

The Madrassa/Muslim defense scratchchin Wonder if some non-Muslims will try this in relation to rape cases, now and for past offences.

Coach & horses being driven through the English legal system.

FFS. How many 18 year old footballers are going to start trying the naive card?

We really need a cull of some of our judges, what a tt.

I like scrolling down the comments on these DM links; only look for the ones with lots of red thumbs down. This is a good one:

"What he did was disgusting and deserves everything he gets but what i found weird was why state his religion??? Ive read about other men doing this and yet they don't state that persons religion?? Media is so twisted it makes me sick.

- misst, birmingham, United Kingdom, 26/1/2013 15:47"

Well misst; perhaps because the others you read about spent a fair few years leaving the soap where it fell whereas this chap got away with a ticking off because of his education (loose use of the word) was based on the teachings of that religion, gotta love the PC brigade.

It just continues to get worse and worse. Our country is becoming a bloody joke. If we can't send this sort of filth back to where he spawned we should build a camp on one of the rocks we still own and chuck them on it.

Clip mentions Asian men.

I suspect few, if any of the 30 arrested will be Indian (mainly Hindu?), Bengali (mainly Muslim?), Malaysian (mainly Muslim?) etc but the slur is on all these groups. frown

Seriously, it is sufficiently in the media now that there will be an end/reduction to it sometime soon - I hope smile

Don't worry.

Normal Service will be resumed as soon as possible.

One of the PH "right on" apollogists will be along shortly to offer some misdirection by posting a link to a story about 1 non "Asian" kiddy fidler and to reassure us that they are only a very small, misunderstood minority, that their religion/education has nothing to do with their actions and that we are all bigots for even thinking such a thing.

As you were.

the rates will go down if the spotlight is on the crime and its harder for people to get away with it.
