Stop making bleeding excuses.

They and their bleeding backwards medieval religion should be treated like the scum they are.
If they didn't have the geographical coincidence of being sat on the oil, no one would give a st about them.

From now on just let the censored kill themselves and just close the borders to the lot of em.

Every sodding mohammad inspired one of em.

Enough is enough surely.

Some people on this planet require an iron fist to keep them in check. It is just a fact of life. Pretending otherwise is not going to do us or them any favours.
Having spent many years studying political history I have to say that this is totally correct. The only way to teach such peoples how to live any other way is to slowly reduce the levels of dependence and control over many, many years so that 3 or 4 generations down the line they are truly able to cope with a 'democratic' life.

Look at Russia for an example of the growing pains that are experienced, but although it is not a World most of us would want to live in they are slowly evolving. Sure 2 steps forward one back but such as is with any worthy endeavour usually.

Equally the reverse is true, just look at how feckless and 'lost' many of our own countrymen and women are without the firm hand of state control to guide, cajole and, if required, force them to become useful members of society.
This ^

We canot expect people to adapt to our ideals within a generation or 2 or even 3. Or longer.
It's not about adapting to our ideas. I think the West are happy about what's happened during the Arab Spring, but the parties that have been elected, Ennahda in Tunisia and Freedom and Justice in Egypt, are not based on Western ideologies.

As for it taking time for a country to understand and appreciate their new found freedom, was that a concern when Milosevic left Serbia and Montenegro, or when Ceausescu left Romania, or Pinochet left Chile? Or is it only Arabs who you consider incapable of self-determination?

I think that some people were expecting to crack an egg and to find a roast chicken dinner inside. It takes time, but the sooner the process begins, the sooner we'll have democratic and progressive countries.

In that case...we should all ignore the acts of insult against us even after we give them what they want and cannot get for themselves. Can we do that? OR should we mind our own business and let other people deal with their own problems?

My question was taken out of context. I didnt say you suggested that. The question was about the approach we should take.....either be oblivious to their actions, or dont bother about them in the first place. Right now...we help and then get upset at what they say and do.

Slick. Not. The actions of some drunk in a stolen car are hardly comparable with what is clearly a religiously motivated attack by sober people who are fully aware of their actions.

Desicrating graves is an act as old as man himself. It's disgraceful what they did, as acknowledged by the NTC, but that's no reason to write off a nation as a bunch of savages.

I don't know why it has to be one or the other. We don't have to ignore what happened, nor do we have to turn our back on Libya. Why can't we accept that this was the actions of a few, who "are being held responsible for the attacks on a number of Sufi shrines and mosques across Libya in recent months and the digging up and removal of the remains of marabouts (holy men)", and move on?

What would happen if our international relations hinged on the actions of the EDF? Why would we grant the Salafists such a stupidly disproportionate amount of power that they can determine Libya's future?

Were they drunk? And as it's NI I wouldn't be so sure there's no religious (or sectarian at least) motivation.

If we were to nuke this sthole and knock it off the face of the planet, so to speak, would I get green glowing petrol out of the oil there and would it make my car go faster?

Joking aside, these fkwits just don't have a clue. Gadaffi was a tyrant, yes, but he kept the savages he ruled over in order. Expect more of this sort of st, plus far more emigration to Europe from this neck of the woods, N Africa too.

Because their religious differences are their problem..not ours. We believe in their secular and democratic individual freedoms and that is what we support. It is their responsibility to accept that and treat us accordingly.

With regard to accepting what happens there as the actions of the few and not representative of the majority...I agree with you. But the majority of people here in the UK would feel upset at seeing this act against our national sacrifices. Not everyone will be accomodating and understanding as you and I.

And hence my question......do we accept insults or dont bother to help? Because right now it doesnt feel good at all trying to help and being kicked in the nuts in return!

Because I have relatives in that cemetery so just fk right off with your "anti islam" apologist bullst.

We've done it for two long now, bent over backwards for these tossers and enough its enough it really is.

"It's just the few spoiling it for the many" Well it patently isn't. Or it's a hell of a huge "few".

I feel sorry for UK muslims I really do. Especially for the ones who try and live a normal life.

But it's about time they told uncle fking omar back home to stop living like it's the 13th century.

Youth in some of us are idiots shocker.

As much as I am disgusted by the behaviour of the minority action here, I can't help but feel its a vent of frustrations built up from decades of oppression and the ability to do what you like has obviously gone to some peoples heads.
