It is only fair. Who else will pay the Irish government for all the DAYLs that they lose, and all their working days?!

COUNTRIES that benefit from Irish emigration should pay a tax to the State in return, sociologist Fr Michel Mac Gril SJ has said.

laugh No modern state owns it's citizens, if you want to poach the best people you need jobs and the less tangible things (culture, weather, cheap booze etc.)

Ireland made it's own mistakes and has no one else to blame really. That is one of the st things about self governance and such, you have to own and wear your mistakes (Or blame the EU). In the meantime if Ireland still persists in ploughing money into dead end banks and NAMA is better than pressing the economic reset button via default then losing it's young is the consequence.

Then they could send a bill to New England and surrounding areas and wipe out the deficit.

Can we charge the Dale Farm evictions back to the Irish government? £2million wasn't it?

Most of the screaming women moaning about their yooman rites seemed to have funny Irish accents.

This bloke's a Jesuit. Their history over the years has been 'mixed' at best.

Can we not simply put all the DAYLS on a ferry and send them back? . . . bit of a win win, Ireland gets it's people back and we get to keep our telephone cables and anything else not nailed down
