I think that was Tennessee in the post. However, I have never met any Christian that thinks the Earth is only 6,000 years old. I am certain they are around but are very limited.
20 years ago that view was common in North and South Carolina!
"common" it was?
Given the was a church on every street corner, and about 10% of those were fundamentalist anti-darwin, anti-black and anti-gay. Yes, scarily common.
Ther is a church on every corner, ones of different denominations and very tolerant of each other. As to your metrics, that again sounds like gludious extractus.

The US is one of the most technologically advanced nations in the World.

It has some people who don't believe scientific theories.

So what? Every nation has its bunch of nutters.

A storm in a teacup I'd suggest......
Aye, it only becomes a problem when the nutters start getting laws passed. . . . . .

Maybe, I speak as I found. And WTF is gludious extractus? Google only has one reference to that, and that was from you on a guns thread. Cod latin, maybe?

I'd thought that, but maybe there is some deeper meaning I'm missing.

You presume correctly; Mighty Google, foiled by a misspelling.

I'm a gentle sort of bloke. However, if I was to punch anyone in the face I have just found the most likely candidate. The only think I could think of to say when I saw that video was Jesus christ!

Isn't there something in the bible about smoting. I seem to remember it was very popular in the old days, this smoting. Can we all not pray for a smote or two for this git?

The scientific proof of young earth creationism. I've seen it before. It makes many silly assumptions.
