You know when companies or products change their name? Marathon changed to Snickers, Jif changed to Cif, and so on... Well, guess what the 'Congregation of The Doctrine of the Faith' used to be called?

He's trying to pretend that an organisation that had the word "inquisition" in it's title, but was renamed over a hundred years ago, is the same as a WHOLLY DIFFERENT organisation with that word in it's title (disbanded over 160 years ago, incidentally, and also never under the same Vatican control as the one mentioned above), that was the subject of a comedy sketch featuring soft cushions, comfy chairs and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope.
Yup... Making it all up in my own head...Wiki said:
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) (Congregatio pro Doctrina Fidei), previously known as the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition (wherefrom arose the names Roman Inquisition or Holy Inquisition popularly used in reference to the 16th century tribunals against witchcraft and heresy), and after 1904 called the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office, is the oldest of the nine congregations of the Roman Curia. Among the most active of the congregations, it oversees Catholic Church doctrine. Its offices are housed at the Palace of the Holy Office at the Vatican.

The body was under the direct control of the Spanish monarchy. It was not definitively abolished until 1834, during the reign of Isabella II, though it had ceased effective operation sometime earlier after a long decline.
so, one still exists and has been rebranded - the point of your first post - and the other, from the link you posted, has been disbanded for over 160 years. So, which of the posts you have made are you going to agree with? Just you seem to be a little confused.
The Spanish Inquisition, and the congregation of the blah blah are different things, hence me posting the links explaining the 2. The Congregation was the Vaticans inquisition arm. The Spanish inquisition, (the clue is in the title), was a Spanish thing.
The 'inquisition' was not just the Spanish Inquisition.

So, the Congregation of the Blah blah's of the faith was involved in Heresy trials, and witchcraft trials. See, I was right. Not confused at all.
