He says an exact replica but with modern tech and more lifeboats. That initial voyage list will probably contain 75% of the world's wealth, I predict.

Hasn't he also said it will be designed not to sink?

Though a statement of the obvious, it's a little too close to tempting fate.

Best not employ an Italian captain.

Yes, what could possibly be safer than combining Titanic with the Hindenburg. At least the resulting fireball will likely melt the remains of any iceberg hehe

Of course it's designed not to sink. It's designed to float!

Who in their right mind would ever buy a ticket for its maiden voyage? hehe

I love the idea of it though, although I'd rather see a faithful recreation, steam engines and all. An aquatic Orient Express experience, a slice of Edwardian luxury - even if it is slower and less efficient than modern cruise liners that by comparison mostly look ghastly.

I eagerly await a follow up with a (sort of) sister ship named Poseidon.

Palmer, a self-made mining billionaire, said he had commissioned state-owned Chinese company CSC Jinling Shipyard to construct Titanic II with the same dimensions as its predecessor.
Shouldn't it really be built in Belfast? Or is there no more room in the dry docks at Harland and Wolff?

hehe

I hope that the "exact replica" part is modified to exclude the later-discovered design flaw that aided the sinking of the original.

Oh st, it might really have an even chance of sinking being blessed with the Chinese's slippery grasp of quality control.

It should be, but I doubt this exact replica will be very exact. For the full effect it should leave southampton too.

A cheap chinese copy, who'd have thunk it eh.
