Where are you getting those numbers? Guardian and Evening standard have it at 44%/40%, and BBC are reporting that it's a lot closer than that.

The Guardian and Evening Standard are probably going on the possible second preferance and it will probably be extremely tight when they're taken into account. My figures are purely from the first preference.

Those constituencies which favour Boris report first. There was a report of a 9% swing in one, which would be a walkover for Ken.

How short memories clearly are if they want Livingstone back in (well, unless you sell wine to the man)...

Chuff. I sincerely hope Boris holds it.

Looks pretty certain it's going to a second round, that's for sure.

Out of interest, I've been away for the last week; what happened to the "London Mayor" thread? It seems to have disappeared.

Oli.

Cameron must be bricking himself. If Boris doesn't win he'll be on the ticket for the next by-election...

What were these issues with the UKIP candidate not putting their party on the ballot paper?

Didn't say 'UKIP - the party' in the text on the ballot sheet. Had the logo on it though, so it was pretty clear.
